Regina Lee Hebert Austin
NEDERLAND - Regina Lee Hebert Austin, 82 of Nederland passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2007. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husbands, Tanner Hebert and Grover Austin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nederland.
Regina is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Bourgeois, Suzann Turner, and Elizabeth Gilbert; son, Clifton Hebert; stepdaughter, Linda Cole; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Willie Mae Austin
Willie Mae Austin, 79, of St. Marys, GA died suddenly Sunday, January 30, 2005 at her residence. Coming from Port Neches, TX, and a native of Beaumont, TX, she had resided in St. Marys for the past 2 months, and was a homemaker. A gathering of family and friends will be this evening (Thursday) 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Broussard's Mortuary Nederland. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Manning Tuma and son, Ronald Wayne McGuire. Her survivors include a daughter, Beverly L. Danford and husband, Darryl of Jacksonville, FL.; son Michael Gene Austin and wife, Stella of Covington, GA; sister MarJorie Woodall and husband, Art of Port Neches, TX; three brothers, Norman Jackson Schlett, of Hempstead, TX., and James Wesley Schlett and Paul Henry Schlett and wife, Ruby all of Beaumont, TX; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Robert Earl Avery Sr.
Groves - Robert Earl Avery, Sr. of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur at the age of 84.
He was born in Dothan, Alabama on August 30, 1923. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Midland Enterprises as a Chief Diesel Engineer. He was a member of the American Engineers Union, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #797, American Legion Post #7 and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday, December 21, 2007 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Moran, Bobby Fruge, Benny Fruge, Lyle Fruge, Travis Pearce and Cody Pearce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Anna Avery, his son, Donald Avery as well as one sister and one brother. He is survived by his daughter, Ramona Sheard and her husband, Mark of Houston, Texas, his sons, John Dale Avery of Jasper, Texas, Robert E. (Bob) Avery, Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Lumberton, Texas, Randy Avery and his wife, Tammy of Plano, Texas along with five grandchildren and one great grandson. LeRoy Benoit
LeRoy Joseph Benoit, 82, of DeQuincy died Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2007 in DeQuincy.
Survivors include two children and several grandchildren.

Margaret Ann Bergeron
NEDERLAND - Margaret Ann Bergeron, 87, of Nederland, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Joe Roberts and Frank Hodges officiating, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Bergeron was a native of Luling and lived in Port Arthur and Nederland most of her life. She retired from Southwestern Bell as an operator with 35 years of service.
Mrs. Bergeron is survived by her sons, L. J. Bergeron of Fannett, and Travis Bergeron of Nederland; six grandchildren, Jamie Cormier, Sherri Herring, Scott Bergeron, Dusty, Bergeron, Cliff Fitzgerald, and James Bergeron; also sixteen great grandchildren. Ted Bixler
NEDERLAND - Ted Bixler, 71, of Odessa, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Broussard’s in Nederland with the Rev. Eddie Hillyer officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
Mr. Bixler lived most of his life in Beaumont before moving to Odessa several years ago. He was self-employed as a mechanical contractor, working for Getty Oil Company in Odessa. Mr. Bixler was a graduate of South Park High in Beaumont, attended Lamar Technology in 51 and 52, and also served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Bixler of Odessa; one daughter, Jerrie Hagerman of Junction; one stepson, Noel Buff Jr. of Lumberton; and six grandchildren.

Laura Virginia Blanton
PORT NECHES - Laura Virginia Blanton, 91, of Port Neches passed away on March 18, 2007. She was born November 13, 1915 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Robert Thomas and Mable Clara Noble McAnally. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches and a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Donald Blanton and wife, Sue of Groves; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin D. Blanton; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 21st at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland, Rev. David Mahfouz officiating.

PORT ARTHUR - Robert H. Boettger, 86, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at his residence in Port Arthur.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Clayton - Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at the funeral home.
Robert was born on January 13, 1920, in Leroy, Texas to Lydia Zoch Boettger and Hugo Carl Boettger. He had lived in Port Arthur for over sixty years and was a retired pipefitter for Texaco Oil Refinery for thirty-six years. He was a member of the O.C.A.W. #423 in Port Arthur, Trinity Lutheran Church and was a World War II Army Veteran. Robert loved to go fishing and also loved gardening, growing many vegetables for his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Eula M. Theriot Boettger of Port Arthur; son, Robert C.“R.C.” Boettger and his wife Alisha of Houston; daughter, Terry Lynn Babin and her husband Steven of Nederland; grandchildren, Amanda Babin of Plantation, Florida, Andy Boettger of Houston, Brock Babin of Nederland and Cortney Boettger of Houston; one great granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Boettger of Houston. Clelie Vincent Borel
PORT ARTHUR - Mrs. Clelie Vincent Borel, 72, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Gulf Health Care.
She was a native of Sabine Pass, Texas; she was a life long resident of Port Arthur. She was born on July 10, 1934 to parents Ovey Paul Vincent and Mary Odel Tyler Vincent. She was a secretary at the YMCA in Port Arthur for many years and was a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James O’Neil Borel and son, Mark Ovey Borel.
She is survived by her sons, James Lee Borel, Vincent Borel, Chris Allen Borel all of Port Arthur; brother, Lynn Morris Vincent of Buna; sisters, John Elizabeth Bergeron of Port Neches, Katherine O’Rourke of Spring, TX, seven grandchildren, seven great-children and one on the way. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, with a Vigil to be held at 6 p.m.. A Service of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. T. R. Blanco officiating. A burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland, Texas. Evelyn Louise Boylen, 78, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Gulf Healthcare in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Broussard's in Nederland with Reverend Malcolm Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends was held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 20, 2007. Mrs. Boylen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Harold Kessler Boylen in January of this year. She was a native of Lewis Co. West Virginia and a member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland. Eveyln is survived by her son, William "Bill" Boylen and wife Conni of Houston; grandson, Zachary Boylen of Portland, TX; brother, Quenton Burkhammer and wife Nora of Weston, West Virginia; nieces, Nancy Gee and Steve, Twyla Shock and Mike; nephews, Wayne and Sandy Burkhammer, Kevin and Debbie Burkhammer, Warren and Connie Burkhammer, Mike Rinehart and Marsha; sister -in-law, Glenna Murray; and a host of friends. Harold Kessler Boylen
Harold Kessler Boylen, 79, of Nederland, TX, passed away, Thursday January 11, 2007 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 15, at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Malcolm Monroe officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the mortuary.
Mr. Boylen was a native of Jane Lew, and lived in Nederland since 1968. He retired from Ameripol-Synpole in Port Neches as a control engineer with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 35 in Good Hope, also the Knights Templer, and Shrine. Mr. Boylen also served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn L. Boylen of Nederland; one son, William “Bill” Boylen and his wife Conni of Houston; one grandson, Zachary Boylen of Portland, Texas; one sister, Glenna Murray of Orange City, Florida; brother-law, Quenton Burkhammer and his wife Nora of Weston, also several nieces, and nephews. NEDERLAND - Louise Bradley, 81, of Nederland, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday evening with a Christian Vigil service to be held at 6:00 PM at the mortuary.
Mrs. Bradley was a native of Port Arthur and lived in Nederland for 50 years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church also the Catholic Daughters of America.
Preceding Mrs. Bradley in death were her parents, Milton and Irma Guidry, her husband, Carl Bradley; her grandson, Jeremy Bradley; great grandson, P. J. Richards; and her sister, Doris LeBlanc.
She is survived by two daughters, Saundra Smith and her husband, George of
Nederland, and Linda Bradley also of Nederland; two sons, Joe Bradley and his wife Lizette of Whitney, and Randy Bradley and his wife Valetra of Findlay, Ohio; also thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Kim was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Greer, and father-in-law, E. J. Breaux. Albert “Al” Brewer
GROVES - Albert “Al” Brewer, 61, of Groves, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Renaissance Hospital. A native of Temple and a resident of the area since 1956, Al served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Groves Masonic Lodge #1315 and worked for Equistar as a lab technician for twenty-nine years. Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing with his grandchildren and was an avid tennis player.
Survivors include his daughters, Karie Brewer of Austin and Keely Caesar and husband Randal of Houston; son, Kyle Brewer of Bridge City; loving companion of seventeen years, Linda LaRue of Groves; two step-daughters, Rhonda Moss and husband Calvin of Evadale and Rachelle Bradley and husband Wayne of Bridge City; stepson, Michael Faires of Santa Fe; brother, Mark Brewer and wife Patsy of Orange; sister, Mary Guillot and husband Mark of Port Neches; and six grandchildren.

Jack A. Brittain, 81, of LaBelle passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Arboretum in Winnie.

Jack was born in Ames, Oklahoma and lived in LaBelle for 26 years. He retired from both Explore Pipeline and Sun Oil. Jack served his country in both the Army and the Air Force.
 
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Brittain of LaBelle; son, Jack L. Floyd Ray Broussard
We love you so much and will miss you. You never let us down and never turned your back on us. Floyd Ray Broussard, 78, of Port Acres, Texas died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Floyd was born on July 2, 1928 in Abbeville, Louisiana to William Broussard and Olive LeBlanc Broussard. He was a 45 year resident of Port Acres and member of Bethel Baptist Church of Port Acres. He was a retired boilermaker from Chevron after 35 years of service where he was known as "Heavy Duty". Floyd was a longtime member of OCAW and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2006 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jeff St. John, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the funeral home. Jack Buchanan
Jack Buchanan, 89, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a member of the Hazel Ave. Church of Christ, was retired from Texaco, and also one of the last members to serve in the US Army Mounted Calvary in the 1930's. Jack was a man who lived his life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and was very generous. During his brief stay in ICU and hospice the staff commented they had never seen so many people and so much love. The waiting room and halls were full. The family would like to extend a special thanks to ICU nurse Kurt Schexayder for his care and compassion. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Jack is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy Buchanan of Port Arthur, two daughters and five sons, Dorothy Theriot of Johnson City, TX, Sandra Stowers and her husband Bob of Houston, TX, Jack Buchanan and his wife Judy of Port Acres, TX, John Buchanan and his wife Kathy of Port Acres, TX, Maxie Buchanan and his wife Renee of Port Acres, TX, David Buchanan and his wife Peggy of Doha, Qatar, Chris Buchanan and his wife Desha of Leander, TX; nineteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Doris Burns
Doris Burns age 92, of Nederland passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Groves. She was born April 2, 1913 in Sale City, GA. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and also worked many years with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Services of Nederland. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Jean Blackmon of Nederland, Virginia Burns McDonald of Deer Park; one son, David Earl Burns of Cochran, GA; one sister, Vinelda Coleman of Macon, GA; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Sue Boyd; five sisters and three brothers. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 pm Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Broussard's Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday November 13, 2005 in Broussard's Nederland Chapel with Reverend Frank Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. NEDERLAND - Ernest Roy Burris, 73, of Nederland, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Aimee Mulder, Rev. Devin Mulder, Rev. George Hearne, and Rev. Dr. Darrell Zumalt officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Serving as pallbearers will be Milton Smith, Joe Noble, Leon Todd, Lance Todd, Carroll Jeanise, David Theriot, Ray Wolf, and Donald Monk. Mr. Burris was a native of Port Arthur and lived all of his life in Port Arthur and Nederland. He retired from Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur as an Operator with 43 years of service, and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Burris was also a member of the Port Arthur First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Burris is survived by his wife, Shirley of Nederland, two daughters, Vickie Burris of Nederland, and Lori Burris of Arlington, Tennessee; one son, Jeff Burris and his wife Pam of Nederland; one brother, Erlton Burris and his wife Judy of Sacramento, California.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Daniel, Adam, and Andrew Burris.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 21, 2007, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Consuelo was born December 25, 1921, Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Manuel Ramos Mendez and Micaela Salas-Alvarez. Consuelo was an organizer of LULAC in 1952 in Port Arthur #217 and Beaumont #235 area. She volunteered at Nutrition & Service Center for senior citizens. She won an award from LULAC #228 and also received honors from Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. She was a member of the Mexican Heritage Society of Port Arthur. She worked at St. Mary Hospital as a housekeeper and had lived in the Port Arthur area for 66 years and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors are her daughters Edelmira Rhodes and Eloisa Cadena, sons Arthur Cadena, Gilbert Cadena and his wife Tina. Mrs. Cadena brothers Oscar Mendez, Raul Mendez and wife Amalia, Manuel Mendez, Guillermo Mendez and wife Micaela. Her sister Raquel Rodriguez and husband Amauri; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cadena was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Gomez Cadena; father, Manuel Ramos Mendez; mother, Micaela Salas Alvarez and brother, Mike Mendez. (published in Port Arthur News on October 21, 2007)


Billy Bruce Carroll Sr.
Billy Bruce Carroll Sr., 47, of Nederland passed away at UTMB in Galveston on Sunday, June 10, 2007. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Broussard's in Nederland at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 14, 2007. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Mr. Carroll was born in Liberty and lived in Nederland all of his life. He was a truck driver for over twenty years. Mr. Carroll is survived by his son, Billy Bruce Carroll Jr. of Nederland; parents, Billy and Nancy Carroll of Nederland; sisters, Pam Knapp and husband, Gary of McKinney, TX, Rhonda Orta and husband Henry of Nederland; two nieces and one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends. Tony J. Castino
BRIDGE CITY - Tony J. Castino, 82, of Bridge City died March 12, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jim McClintock. Interment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Nederland.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday and a Christian Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, both at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. He was born April 1, 1925 in Franklin, Louisiana, the son of Joseph and Annie Castino. He lived in Groves for 32 years before retiring to Bridge City in 1982. He retired from Neches Butane Refinery where he was an accountant.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annie Battaglia Castino of Port Arthur, brother, Leon Castino of Port Arthur, sisters, Frances Hernandez of Port Arthur, Mary Turano of Groves and Mamie Mancil of Port Arthur. Tony is survived by his wife, Mary Castino of Bridge City, three sons, Johnny Castino and wife Connie of Cheek, Joe Castino of Redlands, CA, Jimmy Castino and wife Vicki of Mauriceville, two daughters, Kathy Mercer and husband Jerry of Orange, Pam Hebert and husband Todd of Bridge City.
Also surviving are his brother Frank Joseph Castino of Port Arthur, brother-in-law Richard Mancil also of Port Arthur, eight grandchildren; Angie Mercer of Orange, Melanie Smith of Nacogdoches, Cecy Castino of Redlands, CA, Troy Cooley of San Antonio, TX, Sean Cooley of Bridge City, Aaron Castino of Mauriceville, Ashley Castino of Richardson, TX, Bryan Castino of Cheek, TX, great-grandson, JC Smith of Nacogdoches and nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Tony earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Lamar University, Honorable Discharged in 1946 from the US Army 259th Infantry serving in WWII as sergeant. Tony enjoyed sports being an avid follower of his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic minister and lector for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight in 1987. He was a member of Good Samaritan (aka St. Vincent DePaul), Merry Mixers square dance club and was an Orange Christian Services volunteer. He was a very good natured man who enjoyed life and loved his family. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Cooley, Sean Cooley, Aaron Castino, Bryan Castino, David Smith and James Williams. Bobby “Bo” Joe Cherry
NEDERLAND - Bobby “Bo” Joe Cherry, 68, of Nederland, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Seventh Street Baptist Church in Nederland, with Reverend Tobey Clements officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
Mr. Cherry was a native of Kilgore, Texas and has lived in the area for the past 49 years. He was the owner of Cherry’s Fun and Gift shop in Nederland and was a member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church.
“Bo” was preceded in death by his grandson Cody Bass. He is survived by his wife Linda Cherry of Nederland, son; Eddie Cherry of Nederland, daughters; Kim Cummings and husband Jason of Kirbyville, Missie Vanderweg and husband Colby of Nederland, brothers; Morris Cherry and wife Dean of Pasadena and Allan Cherry and wife Karen of Louisiana. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

James Marvin (Jim) Chesson
James Marvin (Jim) Chesson, 82, of Crystal Beach, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2007 with his children by his bedside at renaissance Hospital in Groves. He was born on December 12, 1924 in Rayne, Louisiana to Robert and Romea Walker Chesson. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy L. Chesson and his son, James M. Chesson Jr. James was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was an Aviation Radioman 2nd Class; First Gunner (Blue Raider) during World War II in the Pacific Theatre from 1942-1946; receiving two gold stars and numerous citations. After rearing his family in Port Arthur, he retired from Texaco Port Arthur Plant and relocated to Crystal Beach where he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed many days of fishing, crabbing, and spending time with his friends and family.
His children Paula Kanesaw of Groves, Tx., Sherri Burton of Bridge City, TX, Billy Chesson of Commerce City, CO., Darrell Chesson of Acworth, Ga., Darla Hoggatt of Wylie, TX, and Leslie Johnson of LaBelle, TX survive him. Also surviving him are seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and sisters Janet Harris of Port Neches, TX, and Marjorie Stephenson of Orange, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Rev. Don Donahue officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm with a memorial services to begin at 7:00 pm conducted by Rev. Don Donahue at the funeral home. Dorothy Lee Barham Clarkston
Dorothy Barham Clarkston, 84, of Port Neches went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007. She was born Jan. 30, 1923.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Broussard’s, 505 12th St., Nederland.
Dorothy was a native of Corsicana and had lived in Nederland from 1963 to 1981 and moved back there four years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Corsicana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Clarkston; parents, Robert and Opal Barham; sister, Bobbie Fuller; and by her faithful guide dogs, Zippy and Ellen.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Rice and husband Charles of Sour Lake and Kay Bottoms and husband Durwood of Port Neches; four grandchildren, John Rice and wife Wendy of Lumberton, Tammy Hennigan and husband Van of Frisco, Jason Bottoms and wife Heather of Kingwood and Jaelyn Pellegrin and husband Heath of Groves; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Jordan, Katie, J.C., Mikaylie, Kaden and Tayelor; two sisters, Wanda Hambrick of Corsicana and Alice Bell of Blooming Grove; and many other family and friends.

Billie Beatrice Concienne
Billie Beatrice Concienne age 82, of Nederland passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Cypress Glen Nursing Center in Port Arthur. She was born October 31, 1923 in San Antonio, TX. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Concienne, Jr. of Nederland; five daughters, Linda Lynch and husband, Pat of Prescott, AR, Ann Collins and husband, Mike of Murfreesboro, AR, Rebecca Hawkins and husband Ron of Cypress, TX, Nancy Vannett and husband, Ron of Port Neches and Tina Brindza and husband, Jim of Nederland; three sons, Joseph A Concienne, III,and wife, Brenda of Big Spring, TX, Mark Concienne and wife, Donna of Broken Arrow, OK and Tom Concienne and wife, Dena of Clearlake, TX. Also surviving are twenty-two grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Bernerdt and Ruth Poss and brother, Albert Henry Poss. A gathering of family and friends will be from 7-9 pm Sunday, April 2, 2006 at St. Charles Catholic Church 211 Hardy Ave. Nederland with a rosary being recited at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am Monday April 3, 2006 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Reverend Dan Malain presiding. Interment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Nederland. Her eleven grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Sylvia Sue Concienne
NEDERLAND - Sylvia Sue Concienne, 65, of Nederland , passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at her residence in Beauxart Gardens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 18, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Reverend Dan Malain officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday in the mortuary. Mrs. Concienne was born in Houston and has lived all of her life in the Golden Triangle area. She worked as a food service manager for N.I.S.D. for 26 years, and was an active member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.
She is survived by her Lynn Concienne of Nederland, children, Kurt Concienne and his wife Sherill of Humble, Troy Concienne and his wife Shelley of Flower Mound, Shanna Blair and her husband Brett of Keller, Rodney Concienne and his wife Linda of Georgetown, Wesley Concienne and his wife Brandi of Flower Mound, grandchildren, Brooke, Cole, Taylor, Trey, Erica, Shane, Max, Garret, Reid, Lauren, Logan, Brianna and Landon, eight sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Elbert Leo Conner
Elbert "Leo" Conner, 76, of Port Neches passed away on Monday, January 2, 2006 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born in Jasper, Texas on September 10, 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Leo retired from Dupont-Beaumont Works as a heavy equipment operator after 25 years of service. He worked at Texaco for 10 years. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa K. Conner of Port Neches, Texas; his son, Bruce W. Mary A. Conner, 80, of Vidor died Friday, December 24, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Abbeville, LA., she has lived in Vidor since 1984, and was a housewife. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Elray Conner of Vidor, sons, Robert Conner of Vidor, and Ronald Conner of Buna, TX., daughters, Barbara Scherry of Vidor, Yvette Miller of Buna, TX., Laura Mae Gunter of Corpus Christi, TX., and Gloria Bean of Vidor, brother, George Nepveaux of Vidor, sixteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Edward "Sunny" Cooley
Edward "Sunny" Cooley, age 68, of Beaumont, passed away July 27, 2006, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Mr. Cooley was born December 12, 1937 in Beaumont and had been a life-long area resident. He served as an electrician and was member of the IBEW Local # 479 for 47 years before his retirement and was member of the Catholic faith. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict having obtained an honorable discharge. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, his horses, but most of all he was a craftsman in wood workings, but most of all he enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Sarina Rawlings; one son, Wade Cooley; two grandchildren, Teela Vaughn and Samantha Derouen and one great grandchild, Jesus Hernandez all of Nederland; five brothers, John Perron of Arkansas, Jessie Perron, Lewis Perron, Mike Bast, George Jackson all of Beaumont and numerous others relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his parents, Edward B. Cooley II and Josie Salles Cooley and his sister Billie Jo Herrmann. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-9 PM Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Broussard's Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 31, 2006 at Broussard's Nederland Chapel with Reverend Dan Malain & Reverend Big Jim Salles officiating. Interment with full Military Honors by the Southeast Texas Veterans Service will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
