THE TIMES-RECORD, FAYETTE, ALABAMA, OCTOBER 20, 2010 - JOHN J. MADISON - Funeral services for Mr. John J. Madison, age 86, of Fayette, were held Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at 3 p.m., from New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Darren Pollard and Bro. Charles Self officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Madison was born Feb. 14, 1924. He died Oct. 15. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Lee Perkins Madison; sister, Mary Lewis; and brothers, David, Paul, Allen and Arley Madison. Survivors include his wife, Cordy Madison of Fayette; two sons, John Kip (Gloria) Madison and Nicholas (Marilyn) Madison; both of Fayette; three grandchildren, Matt (Julie) Madison, Kelli (Ralph) Olive, Kerin (Matthew) Brock; and five great-grandchildren, Kathrine and Emma Madison, Liz and Ethan Olive, and Luke Brock. TUSCALOOSA, AL. Sybil Malone, age 86, of Tuscaloosa, died March 19, 2011, at
Marengo County Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Memory
Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with
Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Desser Glover; her
husband, Norman Malone; her grandson, Todd Jowers; and her brother,
Charles Glover.

Survivors include her daughters, Norma Jean Jowers (Walter) of Demopolis
and Patricia Sanford (Jimmy) of Samantha; and her son, Dale Malone
(Michele) of Cottondale.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Rosedale Baptist Church, the staff
of Marengo County Nursing Home, and Comfort Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
Comfort Care Hospice in Demopolis.

Dan L. Matthews, 75 of Center, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 at his home.  He was born March 5, 1935 in Shelbyville to Wayland Matthews and Thelma Swanzy Matthews.  Mr. Matthews was a member of First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm , Friday, December 17, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am , Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Carla Reed officiating.  Interment will follow at Neuville Cemetery in Shelby County .

Vistus Fowler May
(April 30, 1912 - January 26, 2011)

Funeral service for Mrs. Vistus Francis Fowler May, age 98, of Fayette, will be held Friday, January 29, 2011 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Bluff. Jeff Randolph and Morris May will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Mrs. Vistus Francis Fowler May passed away on January 26, 2011.She died near Bluff at her long time home which is only a few yards from the two room log cabin where she was born, the oldest of eleven children, on April 30, 1912. She married Arlie in 1943 and soon afterward built there home in the woods next to her parents home. She was a wonderful mother to her sons and to her many school students. She loved her home, her yard, and especially her church. Even at the age of 98, she read her bible everyday. She fought a good fight and kept the faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlie May, parents: L.A. and Zellie Dubose Fowler, brothers: Ormand, Huey, Hulon, and L.A. Junior Fowler, and sister: Adell Hollingsworth. She is survived by her sons: Tim (Lisa) May, Paul May and friend, Sondra Ward, grandson: Kevin (Jamie) May , brothers: Joe (Sue) Fowler, and John (Shirley) Fowler, sisters: Virtus Hubbert, Nell Fredrick, and Dess (Howard) Kirkland, sisters-in-law: Mary Fowler, and Beatrice Fowler, brothers-in-law: Morris (Maxine) May, Glen (Willie) May, and Wyman Humber, great-grandchildren: Jakob, Eli, Timmy, Patience, Austin, and Leslie, and many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, members of Mt. Olive Church of Christ, Staff of Becky’s Beauty Shop, and member of the Retired Teacher’s Association, and Fayette Garden Club. Eldon “Mac” McAda
Eldon “Mac” McAda, 62, of Center, passed away Monday, October 17, 2005. He was born October 30, 1942 in Potett, Texas to Robert Newton McAda and Elizabeth Elmina Cross McAda. He was saved and baptized as a young boy and was active in church all his life. He grew up in Campbellton in South Texas. He moved to Nacogdoches to attend SFA. He graduated from SFA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and a minor in Science with a teaching degree. He met and married the love of his life, Margie Nell Graves. He worked for Purena and Rite Care for a while. He then worked for Cactus International Co. Offshore Rigs where he was a driller and toolpusher. Later, he went to work for the Sheriff’s Department in Center, where he worked for several years. His last job was as owner/operator of a BBQ and steak house restaurant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Center and an honorary member of Dr. Hooker’s Sunday School Class. His hobbies were cooking, fishing, listening to music, reading, hunting and watching old movies and westerns. He liked to watch football, and he loved Astros baseball.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. John Bender and Rev. Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at McClelland Cemetery in Shelbyville. Survivors Include: Daughters: Rene’ Mize & husband Gary of Center, Kim Carter & husband Don of Carthage. Robert Marcus “Mark” McDonald, 54, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2005. His death was the result of electrocution while working in a broiler house. He was born July 26, 1951 in Forth Worth to Harold McDonald and Alice Moss McDonald. Mr. McDonald was a poultry farmer and member of Ephesus Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Watson & Sons Chapel in Center with Bro. B.A. Morris officiating. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Edmonds (Bobby) and Sarah Wright (Gerald); a son, Kenneth McGee (Romona); grandchildren, Becky Yeager (Bill), Jim Edmonds (Janet), Lisa Morgan (Dale), Rob McGee (Kristi), Kim Butler (Brian), Dana Gilliland (Allen), and Kent McGee (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Candice Balenger (Heath). Clint Payton (Allison), Trevor Sides, Courtney Edmonds, Chloe Edmonds, Carlie Edmonds, Chelsey Edmonds, Matthew Morgan, Cole Morgan, Mallory McGee, Mayson McGee, Madison McGee, Morgan McGee, Maggie Butler, Will Butler, Mollie Butler, Macy Butler, and Cayla Gilliland; and
great-great-grandchildren, Talan Balenger and Connor Payton.

Mrs. McGee lived a life of service. She loved to cook and share this talent with her community in Home Demonstration Club, active membership in the PTA of Peterson Elementary, and most of all her large family, who were the focus of her life along with her church. She always valued education for her children and sacrificed for them. She was a very loving and caring mother, and always thought of others.

Pallbearers will be Dale Morgan, Rob McGee, Kent McGee, Brian Butler, Jim Edmonds, Bill Yeager, Allen Gilliland, and Trevor Sides.

Rev. Walien L. Mott, 75, of Center, passed away Monday, 17, 2005 in Nacogdoches. He was born September 9, 1930 in Zavalla, Texas to Kerry Wesley Mott & Lillian Simpson Mott. Mr. Mott was a member of Center United Pentecostal Church. He retired after 27 years as a counselor for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Center United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Steve Harris and Rev. Don Grigsby officating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center, Texas. Survivors include: Son, Waline Mott of Center, Daughter, Kayla Wynea of Houston, Grandsons, Justin Adrin Mott and Kris Wade Mott, Sister, Wanda Cook of Vidor, Brother, Hubert Mott & wife Evelyn of Bossier City, La., Sister-in-law, Norma Lout of Shelbyville and Ann Hitt of Center. Brother-in-law, Bud Hitt of Houston, Special Niece, Sammie Harbison of Shelbyville, Also a number of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Preceded in death by wife, Honey Mott & daughter Drema Mott. SIDNEY MOULTON  

Funeral services for Mr. Sidney Moulton, age 67, of Fayette, were held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at 2 p.m.,  from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Jon Sanford and Bro. Kevin Beard officiated.

Mr. Moulton was born Oct. 20, 1943. He died Jan. 21 at Fayette Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Norvel Moulton and Erma G. Sanford Moulton.

Survivors include his sister, Lauren (Claude) Adams of Fayette; nieces, Tami A. (Leroy) Sanford, Melanie A. (Charlie) Watkins; nephews, Leon Adams, Jerry (Renee) Adams; great nieces and great nephews: Robby Sanford, Ashlie N. Watkins (Justin Doster), Brendan L. Doster, Harlie A. Watkins (Chase Fowler), Hannah C. Fowler, Samantha L. Watkins, Brandon Adams, Cade Adams, and Corey Adams.

Pallbearers were Owen Sweatt, John Price, Jack Perry, Mike Huff, James Cotton, Orman Howton and Devin Mostafa.

Robert Allen Mueller, 57, passed away September 24, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Mueller, son: Robert Mueller Jr. and daughter Laura Mueller, mother: Mary Mueller, brothers: Billy Mueller and wife Kathy, Gordon Mueller, Tommy Mueller, Charles Mueller, Kenneth Mueller and Johnny Mueller. DUNCANVILLE-- Mary Taylor-Nece, age 62, of Duncanville, went home to be with the Lord March 14, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastors Mark Falls and Jerry Koster officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Taylor, Sr. and Evelyn Natalie Dutton; mother-in-law, Betty Burkhalter; brother, Steven Taylor; granddaughter, Paige Madison McDaniel; and the father of her children, Johnny McDaniel.

Survivors include her spouse, Daryl Nece; her daughters, Tonya Hanby (Ken), Sonya Reece (Sonny), Tasha Zelasko (Mike) and Tiffany Ponds (Greg); her sons, James McDaniel (Jennifer), Russell (Shannon) and Lowell (Candie) Nece; her sisters, Shirley Goodson (Tommie), Sylvia Koster (Jerry), Tammy Taylor, and Shirley Albright (Fletcher); her brothers, James H. “Jim” Taylor, Jr. (Paula), Chris Taylor (Lynn), and Darryl Taylor (Valerie); 18 grandchildren, Lauren, Ashlyn and Savannah McDaniel, John and Rachel Hanby, Mary Beth Bailey, Dixie and Gunnar Zelasko, Brooke Cook, Justin Lawley, Jamie McMaster, Ben Reece (Angie), Morgan Stacy (Evan), Kerstyn and Mackenzie Nece, Anna Scott, and Presley and Tenley Ponds; six great-grandchildren, Oliver, Drake, Chloe, Gabe, Carson and Larkin; and her “boys,” Rowdy and Colt.

Mary was an outstanding wife, mother, sister, Mimi and friend. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to Mexico with her family and was always ready to help a friend, console someone, visit them at the hospital or nursing home, bake them a cake or throw them a party. If you spent time with Mary, you felt loved. She loved people and life and lived life to its fullest. She knew that every day was a gift from God and passed that time on in her service others. We will miss her every day while we are here on earth but will join her one day with our Heavenly Father.

Pallbearers will be James “Jr” and Wayne Allen, Bud and David Koster, and Jamie and Johnny Taylor.

Jean Nielsen, 76, of Center, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Center. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. 

Ms. Nielsen was born March 25, 1938 in Joaquin to Jimmy and Annie Hogan. She loved reading her Bible, listening to country music and taking care of her pet dogs. She was a member of Jackson Baptist Church in Joaquin. 

She is survived by

TRUDIE NICHOLS

 Funeral services for Mrs. Trudie Nichols, age 92, formerly of Bankston, were held Saturday, January 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Piney Grove Church of God with Rev. Delton Harrison officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Nichols was born August 2, 1918 in Mississippi, the daughter of Coley and Carrie Gray Watkins. She died Wednesday, January 5 in Ohatchee. She was a resident of Bankston most of her life and was a member of the Piney Grove Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry “Buster” Nichols; a daughter, Bonnie Fowler Balderson; seven brothers and three sisters.

   Survivors include one daughter, Lue Creaty (Iamon) Frost of Ohatchee; one sister, Annie Wyers of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren, Garry (Kathy) Frost, Tim (Tina) Frost, Mike (Kay) Frost, Carl (Tammi) Frost and Pam (Bryan) Bonner; thirteen great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren.

   Pallbearers were Garry Frost, Tim Frost, Mike Frost, Carl Frost, Casey Frost and Bryan Bonner.

Norwood Chapel of Fayette directed.

Among Ms. Nicholson’s survivors is her sister, Thelma Nicholson, of San Augustine.
