Funeral services for Michael Paul Cerny, 58, of Walliswere held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was in the Krasna Cemetery near Wallis. Pallbearers were Tim Cerny, Ron Guerra, Richard Medina, Dennis Palmieri, Dennis Polak and Edward Vacek. 

Michael was Born in California to parents, Simon and Frances Vacek Cerny, raised in Downey Calif. and graduated Downey High School in 1968.

Michael was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. He loved movies, music and trips to Coushatta.

Michael died Nov. 18, 2008 in Richmond. 

Survivors include, His father, Simon Cerny of Wallis, daughter, Dawn Cerny and Ron Guerra of Katy, sons, Jerome Cerny of California, Robert and Stacy Cerny of Colton, Calif. and Paul and Devin Cerny of Rosenberg, sisters, Cynthia Medina of Buena Park, California and Melinda and Larry Dohse of Wallis, grandchildren, Ethan Guerra, Reece Cerny and Seth Guerra, nieces and nephews, Richard, Windy, Nanda and Michelle Medina, Travis Hart and Chelsea Reinhart. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Cerny. 

Funeral services were held under the direction of Knesek and Sons Funeral in Wallis.
