Funeral services for Frieda W. Severin, 87, of Sealy were held Sunday, February 21, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Knesek Bros.Ellinger Funeral Chapel in Sealy with Rev. Milroy Gregor officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service were Earl Schubert, Edwin Zabicek, Fritz Engelking, Otis Tipp, Larry Rapsilver, and Louis Rossler, Jr.

The former Frieda Wittenburg was born on December 15, 1905 in Sealy to parents Julius C. and Bertha Braesicke Wittenburg. She was raised and attended school in Sealy and later married in Sealy on February 4, 1925 to August Severin.

Mrs. Severin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cat Spring, and was a homemaker. She loved to garden, play bingo and dominos and watch television.

Mrs. Severin died Thursday, February 18, 1993 in a local hospital.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Florine and Clifton Stuessel of Cat Spring; son, Ervin Severin of Sealy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mable and Joe King of Schulenburg, Ola and George Whitaker of Kyle, and Mary and Hilton Norwood of Del Valle; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Mary Lou Wittenburg of Kyle; sister-in-law, Dera Wittenburg of Austin; grandchildren, Kenneth, Debra and Laura; step-grandchildren, Steve and his wife Eddy and child Nikki, Bobby and his wife DeDe; great-grandchild, Garrett Lee and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Bertha Wittenburg; husband, August Severin, sister, Elbertha Hill and brother, Lee Wittenburg.

Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Bros./ Etlinger Funeral Chapel of Sealy.
