Little Master Roderick Dewayne Houston was born to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee Houston on February 3,
1979, in Brenham, Washington County, Texas. Roderick Dewayne was reared in the Bellville Community by his parents and grandparents. He was preceded in death by his
grandfather, Mr. Leroy Stokes and two great-grandmothers, Mrs. Berdie Stokes and Mrs. Isabell Bonner.
Following a lingering illness, Roderick’s brief life came to its close on Tuesday morning, March
27, 1983, in the Bellville General Hospital, Bellville, Texas. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee Houston of Bellville, Texas aare left to mourn Roderick’s untimely
passing. Also left to mourn his demise are his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie L. Dever, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cloud of Brenham, Texas
and Mr. Ennis Stokes of Kenney, Texas as well as many other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Funeral Service: Saturday, March 26, 1983, 1:00 p.m., Diggs Funeral Home Chapel, 428 West Meyer
Street, Bellville, Texas, The reverend R. S. Smith, officiating.
Pallbearers: Messer’s Charles Houston, Wayne Houston, Robert Houston, and Tommie Houston, Jr.
Interment: Kenney Cemetery, Kenney, Texas, Directors, Diggs Funeral Home, Bellville, Texas.
