 G. M. MUSGROVE

 

Long Time Resident of Montgomery County Dies After Illness

Gordon M. Musgrove was one of the oldest residents of Montgomery County, having lived for many years in the community just wet of Security and about 12 miles east of Conroe.   He died at 5:00 P. M. on Friday, February 18, 1938 of a short illness caused by gangrene.  He was eighty-five years old.

Mr. Musgrove was a farmer all his life up to the time of his retirement a few years ago because of this advanced age.  He had been living recently with on of his daughters in Silsbee.  He was a  member of the Baptist church.

Survivors are two sons, W. G. and T. J. Musgrove of Security; and five daughters, Mrs. J. D. Bice of Security, Mrs. L. A. Stapp of Conroe, Mrs. F. H. Wooldridge of Shreveport, La., Mrs. W. S. Bartle and Mrs.  Dora Brackin of Silsbee, Mrs. F. P. L. Long of Conroe is a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at County Line Church at 12:30 o'clock on Sunday, with the Reverend Collins of Cleveland officiating.  Burial was in County Line cemetery.

Six grandsons acted as pallbearers.  They were: Frank Stapp, Alf Bartle, J. R. Britt, Billie, Jeff and R. C. Brackin.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Metcalf Funeral Home.
