According to family history, this cemetery began when Sally, a teenage daughter of Alembert L. and Lucie Williams Crocker died during the Civil War (1861-1865).  There was no cemetery nearby so they buried her in their flower garden. 

Information provided when the cemetery was originally indexed in 1981 stated there were 5 unmarked graves on the last row to the right of the gate.  These are the family of Alonzo Skinner and his wife Lucy Marshall Skinner.   The 1900 San Augustine County Census indicates Lucy was the mother of 12 children, 9 living at that time.  The 1910 Newton County Census Indicates she was the mother of 14 children, 10 living at that time.  Research  on the children Listed on the census and death records leaves us to believe the following children are Probably the family members buried in this cemetery:  Mirabeau, Carlo Darcus, John Mathews  and perhaps an un-named baby.  We could not account for a 5th child from the records.
