I am Jane Sanford-Hogan Keppler, the county coordinator for Shelby County Texas .   I was born in 1952 just across the border in DeSoto Parish, LA, but my parents and grandparents were born and raised in Shelby County, TX.   I now own property in Joaquin, Texas that was once my great grandparents.   Click here to meet me.

Suzanne Sowell  is the county co-coordinator.  Suzanne lives in neighboring San Augustine County and has roots in Shelby County for both her and her husband side of the family.

Joaquin Community Cemetery

This cemetery is located just off Highway 84 in Joaquin, just across the railroad track by the Baptist Church. 

JUNE 13, 2020

10:00 AM slideshow

11:00 AM songs, business, meeting and speaker.

Bring a covered dish. The committee will furnish ice tea and paper goods. 

Joaquin Cemetery Homecoming is on Saturday June 13th this year. Time to remember with love those who have loved us. Come at 10:00 visit and watch the slideshow. The business meeting starts at 11:00 and will include a speaker on historical topics. There will be drawings for door prizes, the find-a-grave contest for kids, and the ever-growing slide show of over 300 photos of historic people and scenes from old Joaquin. will be on-going during the meal. So cook up your favorite dish or grab a box of fried chicken and head on over to see old friends, make new friends, and visit with cousins!
