Bobby Joe Dickerson

LOGANSPORT, LA - Services for Bobby Joe Dickerson, 60, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Maple Springs Baptist Church on Hwy 5, Logansport, LA. Officiating will Rev. Doyle English, Pastor of the Logansport Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Joaquin, Texas. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Wednesday, September 16, from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Dickerson was born February 6, 1949 in Shreveport, LA to Ransom Monroe Dickerson, Sr. and Narcell McAllister Dickerson. He entered into rest on September 14, 2009 as a result of an accident on the oil rig on which he was working. Bobby served in Vietnam while in the U.S. Army.

Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom Monroe Dickerson, Sr. and Narcell McAllister Dickerson and a son Patrick Owens. He is survived by his wife; Sybil Nan Dickerson, Logansport, two daughters; April Marie Taylor and husband Shayne, Stanley, LA, Amanda Jean Dickerson Jones and husband Ricky, Joaquin, TX; two sons; Thomas L. Owens, Logansport, LA and Wesley Earl Owens, Logansport, LA; three sisters; Alice Joy Malmay and husband Eddie, Zwolle, LA, Ida May Emerson and husband Johnny, Joaquin, TX, Irene Windham and husband Martin, Joaquin, Texas; one brother; Ransom Dickerson, Jr. and special friend Virginia; grandchildren: Kaleb Morgan, Seth Taylor, Chloe Morgan, Sam Taylor, Dylan Jones, Olevia Jones, Landen Jones, Jenelle Owens, Melinda Owens, Charlene Owens and Robin Owens, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be John Sholar, Richard Sholar, John Caudill, Shawn Dailey, Michael Malmay, Vernon Champion, Dale Cox, Clint Wells and Wesley Owens. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
