GONE

UNDER THE SODS WE HAVE LAID THEM.

PEACEFULLY DOWN TO THEIR REST.

SHUT ARE THE SWEET EYES & FOLDED.

THE HANDS ON THE DEATH FROZEN BREATHS.

STILL IS THE HEARTS THAT BROUGHT EVER

SUNSHINE TO MANY A PLACE

DOWN IN THE GLOOM & THE SILENCE

HIDDEN THE BEAUTIFUL FACE.

GONE & OUR HOMES ARE SO DREARY

GONE & OUR HEARTS ARE SO SORE

GONE FROM THE PATHS THAT THEY BRIGHTENED

ON EARTH WE SHALL SEE THEM NO MORE

HOW REACH THE END OF LIFES DAY

SHADOWS & DARKENED HAVE GATHERED

THICH ORE THE DESOLATE WAY

FAR UP THE STARRY HEIGHTS THEY SING

CALLING US FROM EARTH TODAY

WHILE MEMORIES SAD BUT DEATHLESS CLING

POINTING US THE NARROW WAY.
