Union Center African Methodist Church

In 1963, church officers included, W. Chavers, F. Denman, L. Hicks, R. Taylor, L. W. Thompson, L. Tolbert, A. Turner, M. B. Jones, secretary pastor, J. B. Brown, presiding elder and O L. Sherman, bishop. *

 

First Missionary Baptist Church
Founded 1892

The sanctuary was rebuilt in 1963 and the deacons included, B. Adams, A. Ferguson, C. Hardy, M. Hicks, S. Hubbard, F. Lewis, K. McWashington, J. Rigsby, J. Scott, O. Wheaton, and V. L. Woodworth.  Pastor was A. L. Bradley with Willis Scott as clerk and Addie Jones as secretary. *

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church

On Oct. 7, 1979,  the sanctuary was completed and was rededicated.  The church officers included E. O. Arnsworth, F. O. Arnsworth, P. Davis, S. Davis and I. Hatchett .  Trustees were J. A. Adams, Ed Franklin, J. Jackson II, J. Linton, H. H. Phears and R. L. Young.  The clerk was V. Adams and the pastor was T. B. Reeves.

 

Mt. Sinai Baptist Church
FM149 in Montgomery,  Texas
The sign on the church states the following:  Mt. Sinai was organized in 1897 in the Dupree School building near the present church site.  Organizers were Rev. P.A. Northington, Bob Brooks, Bob Wise, J. K. Kindle, Dick Roach and Mose & John Chambers.  The original building was erected in 1898.  During the tenure of Rev. J. D. Reed (1957-1999) the building was modernized and after 85 years of use, was replaced in 1982.  Present Pastor Rev. T. C. Williams".  I am assisting with a Texas History project involving Montgomery history; therefore have pictures, etc. for each church.  For more info contact
