Here is the information about the
Philips family. In the 1920's, L. B.  Philips and wife Ida, bought,
reserved, what ever was appropriate at the time, 12 lots for his family in the
White Oak Cemetery, established in 1905  in Porter, Texas, off old Humble
road, hwy. 59. He and his wife, placed a  family name stone, which is
blue and white with "PHILIPS" in the middle.  They also placed a wrought
iron step over fence- type rail around their lots. A cedar tree was also
planted. Two large cement pots were on either side of the entry way name
stone. Sometime in the 70's, the rail was  removed, the two pots,
removed, and the family has had to pay to bury anyone  in the lots. We
were told that the caretaker needed the lots cleared to mow  the grass.
Since, the footstones are sunk in the ground and we have had to  dig them
up and several vases, connected to the monuments were broken. Not a  very
good "caretaker" associated, I would think. The spelling of the  name

Philips was changed in the late 1930's, when the family relocated to West
Columbia, TX, due to L. B.'s  job transfer with Humble Oil Co. (Texas
  Pipeline Co.)
