Bennie Faterkowski, 73, passed away at his home in Chappell Hill Sunday morning, October 26, 2003.

Bennie was born on February 24, 1930 in Bellville to Bruno and Stella Mazurkiewcz Faterkowski. He was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and attended Cochran school.

On November 14, 1953 he was married to Margaret Nowak in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Father John Weslik. Bennie then served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was currently retired.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Faterkowski; son Daniel Faterkowski of Bellville; daughter Shirley Sebesta of Rosenberg; 9 grandchildren Daniel, Jr., Darrell, Douglas and Travis Faterkowski, Brian Sebesta and his fiance' Dianne Wendt, and Lisa Pless and her husband David; brothers Bruno Faterkowski, Jr. and Max Faterkowski; sisters Helen Pawlowski, Nancy Jozwiak and Hattie Janczak; brother-in-law Leonard Nowak and wife Gertrude; sister-in-law Pauline Jacobs and husband Alton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and he also leaves behind two beloved pets Pinta and Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers Leon, Adam, Wallace, Stanley, Joe, Steve and Frank Faterkowski and infant twin brothers.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2003 in Brenham Memorial Chapel led by Deacon Dan Nowak. The Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Father Eugene Shepard celebrant, burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers included Brian Sebesta, David Pless, Daniel Faterkowski, Jr., Darrell Faterkowski, David Nowak, Raymond Kwiatkowski, Harry Faterkowski and Dale Jozwiak.

Honorary pallbearers were Lisa Pless, Douglas Faterkowski, Travis Faterkowski, and Dianne Wendt.

Memorial may be given to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, Brenham, Texas.
