Bellville Times
A funeral service for Willie Steve Harris was held at 2 p.m. Nov.
15, 2003
at Isaiah Community A.M.E. Church in Bellville, Texas with Rev. Gary
Blackmon Officiating and Rev. Luther Shaw Pastor. Interment was in
Richard
Grove in Bellville, Texas.
Pallbearers were Danny Harris, Tyrone Frazier, Andre Frazier, Jessie
Haywood, Jessie Harris and Jessie Drake. Honorary Pallbearers were
Wayne
Gamblin, Reginald Lacour, Larry Duckworth, Ezell Montgomery,
Franklin
Robinson, Learon Drake.
Willie Steve Harris was born to May Emma Smith and Clarence Harris.
At an
early age he confessed Christ. Willie attended public school. He
later met
and married Betty Lou Washington. To this union ten children were
born.
Willie was a wonderful husband and father. He will be truly missed.
He
attended Isaiah Community Church.
On November 10, 2003, God chose another soldier for his army.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years Betty Lou
Harris,
children Ethel Austin, Ada Drake, Velma Duckworth (Larry), Stella
Robinson,
Linda Gamblin (Wayne), Mae Emma Montgomery (Ezell), Danny Lee Harris
(Shewan) and Jessie Lee Harris, grandchildren LaShanda and Kenya
Austin,
Shelida & Reginald Lacour, Tyrone, Andre and Jillian Frazier, Jessie
and
Learon Drake, Jason, Montgmery, DeSean Holman, Tashavia Harris,
Willie Steve
Harris Jr. III, great grandchildren Aushunay, Mondrel, Janae,
Devante,
Leanor Sr., Trevon, Marcus, Hezekiah, three great granddaughters and
one
great grandson by Chub, aunt Ernestine Smith, sisters Nell Blacksmon,
Rena
Basile, Flora Davis and Lou Frazier, brothers Mitchell Davis, Joseph
Davis
and Authur Davis, brothers-in-law Dave Washington Jr., Nelson Basile,
a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral directors were Diggs Funeral Home of Bellville, Texas.
