Funeral services for Matt Ryan Hensley, 24, of Bellville, Texas were
held Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Nelsonville Brethren
Church in Nelsonville with Rev. Mike Groseclose officiating. Interment was at
National Cemetery in Nelsonville.
Pallbearers serving were Eli Merz, Cody Briles, Cody Duncum, Jason
Elston, Chris Mlcak, Jason Beaman, Marcus Poffenberger and Jeff Novosad.
Honorary pallbearers were all his other friends.
Born in Bellville, Texas, Matt was the son of Vickie (Briles) and
Michael Hensley. He was raised in Bellville. He graduated from Bellville High
School and attended Blinn Jr. College. He installed security alarms for Mikeska
security company and was a member of Nelsonville Brethren Church.
Matt Ryan Hensley died September 14, 2003.
His survivors were his mother and father Vickie Winkelmann and Gary of
Bellville, sisters Tina Fenlon of Bellville, Mandy Elston and husband
Jason of Katy, Rikki Vacek and husband Darren of Bellville, Leann Hensley of New
Ulm, nephews Aidan Fenlon, Blayne Writer, grandmother Lori Briles,
grandparents Merle and Faye Hensley of El Campo, numerous aunts and uncles, Joe and
Cherry Briles, Duane and Susie Sandefer, Daniel and Sandra Merz, Reese and
Susie Sandefer, Daniel and Sandra Merz, Reese and Sharon Burger, great aunt
and uncle Jean and Tom Welfel and family of El Campo and best friend Eli
Merz and rest of his cousins.
Preceded in death by father Michael Hensley, grandparents Jolene and Ray
Burger and Cotton Briles.
