VIOLA (SOMMERFELD) PRIESMEYER

Funeral services for Viola Bertha Priesmeyer, 81, of Bellville, were held Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. from St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville with the Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Interment was at Salem Cemetery in Salem.

Pallbearers serving were her nephews Daryl Gummelt, Gilbert Goeke, John F. Kruse, Roger Sommerfeld, Dwayne Rogge, Lynwood Rost.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Priesmeyer, Jimmy Priesmeyer and Tom Smith.

Born in Wesley, Viola was the daughter of Otto H. and Bertha (Sunderhuse) Sommerfeld. She was raised and attended school in Wesley.

Nanny Priesmeyer baby sat children of all ages for 25 years, and she loved working with her potted plants. Viola was very involved in Luther League and Sunday School at Salem.

Viola Bertha Priesmeyer died Dec. 9, 2003 in Brenham.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Priesmeyer of Bellville; daughters Geneva Butler of Livingston, Gale Priesmeyer of Bellville; sons Raymond H. and Betty Priesmeyer of Cat Spring, Kenneth Priesmeyer of Bellville; grandchildren Sheryl and Don Hanks, David Butler, Amy and Steve Rejcek, Lisa and Michael Clamon, Kevin and Robin Priesmeyer, Beth and Jeff Prokop, great grandchildren Jennifer, JoAnna, Tyler and Stephen Hanks, Bryan Butler, Derek and Brett Rejcek, Forest and Kristin Clamon, Taylor and Morgan Priesmeyer,
Dillon Prokop; brother Ervin Sommerfeld; sister Weda Pruess; sister and brother-in-law Bertha and John Kruse; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Erwin and Katherine Priesmeyer, H.F. and LaVerna Priesmeyer;  brother-in-law Theodore Rogge; sister-in-law Earline Sommerfeld; numerous nieces, nephews and special children.

Preceded in death by parents Otto H. and step-mother Emma Sommerfeld; mother Bertha Sommerfeld; brother and sister-in-law Emanuel and Mildred Sommerfeld; brother O.C. Sommerfeld; sister and brother-in-law Hettie and Johann Quebe; sister Bernice Rogge; son-in-law Carroll Butler; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Iona Wilhelmson.
