Funeral services for Douglas B. Raskey, Jr., 43, of Sealy, Texas were held
Friday, May 16, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in
Sealy, Texas with Rev. Bernard Snock officiating. Interment was at Sealy
Cemetery with Military Honors.
Serving as pallbearers were retired Marines.
Born in Weisbanden, Germany, Douglas B. Raskey, Jr., was the son of
Douglas
B. Raskey, Sr. and Delores (Savage) Raskey.
Douglas was raised on many
military bases due to his father's military career. He graduated in 1976
from Pacific High School in San Bernadino, California.
He served his
country
in the U.S. Marine Corps. While in the Marines he attended community
college
in Germany where he attained an associates degree. Upon his discharge he
began working for the FAA as a computer specialist and he was also an EMT.
On January 21, 1995, Douglas was joined in marriage to the former Miss
Vicki
Svoboda with a ceremony held in Houston.
Douglas B. Raskey Jr. died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in Sealy, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Raskey of Sealy, father Douglas B.
Raskey,
Sr. of Nesbit, Tennessee, daughter, Heather Raskey of Houston, stepson
Colton Kaminski of Sealy, sisters Debbie and Cathy Raskey and
father-in-law
and mother- in-law Charlie and Jeanette Svoboda, brother-in-law and
sister-in-law Michael and Julie Svoboda and niece and nephew Danielle and
Donovan Svoboda.
Preceded in death by his mother Delores Raskey and his grandparents.
Funeral services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Sealy, Texas.
