TRACY (JANCIK) SKLAR

Funeral services for Tracy Sklar, 97, of Sealy were held Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. from the Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy with Rev. Eldon Sheffer officiating.

Pallbearers for the service were Johnnie Sklar, Jim Faber, Bubba Whitley, Chris Felcman, Jeff Felcman, and James Vavrecka with honorary pallbearer James Floyd. Graveside funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

The former Miss Tracy Jancik was born to parents Josef and Anna Gabrys Jancik in Moravia, Czechoslovakia. Her family moved to the United States passing thru the Port of Galveston, Texas in November 15, 1908. Tracy was raised in the farming communities of East Bernard and Wharton, Texas where she also attended school.

On June 27, 1927, she married John Sklar in Wharton. Tracy and John made their home in Wallis where they farmed and ran the Sklar Grocery Store and Meat Market first in East Bernard and later in Wallis. Mrs. Sklar was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sealy and the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #28 in East Bernard.

Tracy Sklar died Saturday, October 18, 2003 in Katy.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Delores and Francis Felcman of Rosenberg; son Johnny Sklar and special friend Nita Wright of Houston; sisters Frances Bose of Bay City and Louise Harris of Dallas; grandchildren and spouses Sherry Whitley and Bubba, Johnnie Sklar Jr. and Rose, Judy Faber and Jim, Mary Kay Floyd and James, Chris Felcman and Nancy and Jeff Felcman; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Anna Jancik; husband John V. Sklar; sister, Mary Marzek, Stephanie Hajducek, Julia Heil and Lydia Shenkier; brothers Henry, John, Joe and Jerry Jancik and daughter in law Tillie Sklar.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 526 Hardeman, Sealy, Texas 77474.

Funeral services were held under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapel of Sealy.
