Funeral services for Ellen Walker, 77, of Iola, Texas were held Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 1 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville, Texas with Rev. Michael Palanaro officiating.

Born in Iola, Texas, Ellen was the daughter of Charles P. and Nancy Virginia (Snook) Grissett. She was raised in Iola, Texas and attended school there. Ellen Grissett married Howard J. Walker November 11, 1949 with ceremony held at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Zion Methodist Church.

Ellen Walker died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 in Bellville, Texas.

Her survivors are daughters Nancy Walker Taylor and husband Don of Houston, Martha A. Polise of Houston, Melinda Kaye Walker of Bleiblerville, Laura Herr and husband Gary of Bellville, sons Rodney Walker and wife Marcia of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Michael Walker of Iola, sisters Martha Collins of Houston, Doris Mobley of Austin, brothers Dan Grissett of Sinton, Alf Grissett of Iola, grandchildren, eleven granddaughters and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by parents Charles P. and Nancy Virginia Grissett and husband Howard J. Walker.
