Funeral Services for Joyce Young, 53, of Sealy, were held Wednesday, Dec. 17,2003 at 1 p.m, from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy with the Rev. Robert Shelton officiating. Interment was at Sealy Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers for the service were Al Gilmon, Allan Fuller, Blair Young, Aaron Bennett, Brandon Bennett, and Gerald Young. Born in Birmingham, Ala., Joyce was the daughter of Theodore James and Dovie Jewell (Yancey) Witt. She graduated from Aldine High School and attended San Jacinto College and the University of Houston. She worked for Igloo in exporting. On June 13,1980, the former Miss Joyce Witt and Mr. Robert Young were married with a ceremony held in Houston. Joyce was a charter and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Joyce Young died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 in Houston. Survived by her husband, Robert Young of Sealy, mother, Dovie Witt of Katy, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Betty Young of Sealy, sisters, Faye Marriott, and Laverne Westbrook. Preceded in death by her father, Theodore James Witt. Services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, 768 Fourth Street, Sealy.Posted by Joy Neely
