LORENE ELLA SCHULZ HAHN

Lorene Ella Schulz Hahn, 81, of Brenham, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004,
in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born August 29, 1922 in the Welcome Community to Robert and Bertha
Meyer Schulz. She was baptized on November 12, 1922, and confirmed March 21,
1937 both in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome. She was educated in the
Wesley School.
On November 25, 1943, she was married to Theodore John Hahn in Salem
Lutheran Church of Welcome by the Rev. J.M. Mansur. Lorene, with her
husband, owned and operated the following businesses in Brenham during a
35-year period: Hahn Food Market, White Auto Store and Alamo Package Store.
After retirement, they were involved in farming, ranching, and in the oil
business. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her flowers. Lorene was a
member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem.
Survivors include sisters, and brothers-in-law, Esther and Raymond Klump of
Brenham, and Evelyn and Eugene Krenek of Bellville; nieces and nephews,
Rosemary and Gary Knebel, and Ora Nell and Clamens Tiemann, all of Brenham,
as well as Dan and Martha Hahn, Leigh Anne Hahn, Jackson Hahn and Ellyse
Hahn, all of Spring; and special caregiver Karen Lacouture.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Hahn on August
30, 1997; sister, Vada Schulz; and nephews, Carl Edward Klump and Jerry
Klump.
Visitation with the family was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2004 in
Benham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service were 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in Salem Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Salem with the Rev. Bill Derrick and the Rev. Mike Widner
officiating. Interment followed in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Knebel, Dan Hahn, Alton Haar, Troy Hannath, Clifford
Miller, Floyd Addicks, and Delano Klausmeyer. Honorary pallbearers were
Clamens Tiemann, Otto Lehrmann, Jerry A. Hahn, and Rosemary and J.D. Sutton.
Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, Scholarship Fund for
Ministers.
Funeral services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, Brenham.
