Funeral Services for John Machinsky, 94, of Bellville were held Wednesday,
Dec. 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. from Knesek Brothers Funeral Chapel in Bellville
with the Rev. Milton Maly officiating. Interment was at New Ulm Cemetery in
New Ulm.
Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Heinsohn, James Corley, Dwight Linn,
Robert Janish, John Marcinkiewicz and Wal Jean Janicek. Honorary pallbearers
were Al Huete, Michael Klesel and Everett Locke.
Born in Bellville, John Machinsky was the son of Roman and Frances (Jasek)
Machinsky. He was raised in Austin County and attended school in Oak Hill
and New Breman.
John served his country during WWII in the United States Army, reaching the
rank of Sergeant. He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroads where he
worked as a traveling machinist for 30 years.
John was a member of Masonic Kelly Lodge #1131 of San Antonio, a lifetime
member of Bellville VFW Post #6522 and a member of International Association
of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Mr. John Machinsky died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 in Bellville.
He is survived by his best friend and companion Dolores Coufal of Bellville;
his sisters Millie Luedke of New Breman, Ester Heinsohn of Houston; Bernice
Merkel of Aransas Pass, Gladys Miller of Houston, Erna Corley of Beaumont;
daughter-in-law Betty Huete and husband Al of Katy; sister-in-law Helen
Machinsky of New Ulm; granddaughters Debbie Browning of Austin, Julie Besson
of San Antonio, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his pet
kitties "Blackie and Morris."
Preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Frances Machinsky, wife Betty
Machinsky, two infants, his sister Bertha Ashorn and her husband Cheneck,
brothers Walter Machinsky, Eddie Machinsky and his wife Berdina, Albert
Machinsky and his wife Angeline, and son Nelson Lewis, brothers-in-law
Wilbur Heinsohn, Theo Merkel, Edwin Luedke, Arthur Miller, and James Corley.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
Funeral Services were under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels
in Bellville.
