Funeral services for Ray Nanez, 53, of Houston, were held Monday, August 9,
2004, at 10:00 a.m. from guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with the
Rev. Richard Johnston S.C.J. celebrating the funeral mass and rite of
committal. Interment was at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Serving as
pallbearers were Christopher Nanez, Michael Nanez, Kermit Garner, Jr.,
Jessie Nanez, Jr., Jason Oros, and Gus Oros, Jr.
Born in Wallis, Ray Nanez was the son of Joe and Eufenia Celillo Nanez. He
was raised in Wallis and graduated from Wallis High School. Ray was a member
of St. Albert Catholic Church in Houston. He worked at Rice University in
Houston for many years.
Ray Nanez passed away Friday, August 6, 2004, in Houston.
Ray is survived by sisters, Janie Garner of Wallis, and Theresa Oros of Van
Vleck; brothers, Lupe Nanez of Houston, Joe Nanez, Jr., of Wallis, John
Nanez of Sugar Land; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Sr., and Eufenia Nanez.
Funeral services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Wallis.
