Funeral services for Gertrude Snock, 92, of Frydek, were held Tuesday, April
13, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with the Rev.
Bernard Snock, the Rev. Octavio Muguerza, the Rev. Tim Bucek and Deacon
Jerome Losack con-celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal.
Interment was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Frydek. Pallbearers for the
service were Frydek Knights of Columbus members David Ondruck, Bennie L.
Ondruck, Bill Sodolak, Brian Sodolak, Leonard Stolarski, and Albert J.
Sodolak. Honorary pallbearers were all other Frydek Knight's of Columbus.
On Monday, April 12, 2004 a Catholic Daughters and Altar Society Rosary was
held at 6:30 p.m., a Wake Service was held at 7 p.m. followed by a K.J.T.
and K.J.Z.T. Rosary at 7:30 p.m., all held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Frydek.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Gertrude was the daughter of William and Anna
Knitter Simon. She was raised in Pittsburgh where she graduated from high
school and from Nursing School.
In February of 1929, Gertrude and Mr. John Snock were married with ceremony
held in Pittsburgh. She was a registered nurse and worked at Mercy Hospital.
Gertrude was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, National Council of
Catholic Women, St. Mary's Altar Society, Catholic Daughter's, K.J.Z.T.,
K.J.T. and A.A.R.P. Local Chapter.
Gertrude Snock died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in a Houston hospital.
She is survived by her sons, the Rev. Bernard Snock of Frydek, Philip Snock
and wife Margaret of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughter-in-law Heidi Snock of Monroe,
La.; grandchildren Marianne, Patricia, Phyllis, Kimberly, Linda Jean, and
Darlene; and 13 great grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Simon; her
husband, John Snock; her son, Kenneth Snock; and 2 brothers, Ramond and
Conrad Simon.
Funeral Services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Sealy.
