WAYNE L. TRAUTWEIN
Bellville Times

Wayne L. Trautwein was born February 27, 1938 in Galena, Illinois, the son of Charles L. and Marjorie Maxine Curry Trautwein. He grew up and attended school in Houston before serving his country in the United States Air Force. On November 17, 1962, Wayne was united in marriage with Anne Myer in Houston. They moved to Bellville in 1976 and later relocated his business to Industry. Wayne later became President and CEO of Automated Technology Inc. (ATI). A hard worker, he was always the first to arrive at work, and the
last to leave. For relaxation, he enjoyed flying his Cessna. After a long
career in the valve actuator business, Wayne was looking forward to
retirement. He was often referred to as "Mr. Actuator" by his lifelong
business associates.
He passed away peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2004, at his home in Bellville after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He is survived by his family and care givers: his wife of 41 years, Anne Myer Trautwein; daughter, Melissa Amanda Ball and husband Ken; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Land and husband Harold, Jim Myer, and Ruth Henderson and close friend Lyle Chandler; grandchildren, Amber Navarre, Kenneth Ball and Chelsea Ball; and father Charles "Chuck" Trautwein. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Trautwein.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with David Mahan officiating. Graveside service followed at 3 p.m. at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, with the Rev. John Schneider officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne's co-workers at ATI.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to Scott Department of Neurology, 6560 Fannin, Suite 2100, Houston, TX 77030, Attn: Dr. Robert Arnato, Kidney Cancer Research Department.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville.
