Funeral services for Gilbert L. Campos, 97, of Sealy, were held Saturday,
May 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy
with the Rev. Ray Schmidt celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of
Committal. Interment was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy.
Pallbearers serving were Dardy Campos, Anthony Campos, Robert Campos, Sergio
Campos, Lonnie Campos, Gary Campos, Roy Campos, Jr., and Benny Savedra.
Honorary pallbearers were Dardy E. Campos, Gilbert Campos, John Campos,
Michael Campos and Brandon Campos.
Gilbert was the son of Alejo and Lenor (Lopez) Campos. He was raised in
Lampasas, Texas, and attended school in Lampasas. Gilbert was an agriculture
farmer and also worked for Schindler Bros. Concrete in 1969. Gilbert married
Lenora in 1929 with ceremony held in Lampasas, Texas. Gilbert L. Campos died
May 18, 2006 in Llano, Texas.
He is survived by his daughter Leonora Martinez of Sealy, sons Joe Campos of
Oklahoma, Dardy Campos and wife Patsy of Burnet, John Campos and wife Romey
of Sealy, sisters Julia Rodriguez of Cat Spring, Felipa Rodriguez of
Houston, brothers Simon Campos and wife Mary of Sealy, Manuel Campos and
wife Carmen of Austin, 25 grandchildren, fifty two great-grandchildren and
eight great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Alejo and Lenor Campos, wife Lenora Campos,
sons Rudy, Alex and Gilbert Campos, Jr. and Roy Campos, sisters Juanita
Harris and Augustina Jass, Brother Blas Campos and grandson David Campos.
