RODERICK DONALD CHANDLER

Roderick Donald Chandler was born in Breckenridge on September 23, 1936 the
son of Harry E. and Francis Donald Chandler.
He died January 20, 2006 in Bellville.
Mr. Chandler grew up and attended school in Fort Worth. After graduating
from highs school, he attended Texas Christian University and Texas Tech. He
served his country in the United States Air Force from July 23, 1958 until
June 15, 1962. After his honorable discharge, Roderick worked as a salesman
for National Cash Register. He had also worked for Cameron Iron Works.
He was a member of The Shepherd's Way Church in Sealy. An avid sport's fan,
he enjoyed football, golf, baseball and bowling.
Chandler is survived by his sons: Bruce Chandler and his wife, Leisha, of
Bellville; Tom Chandler of Pattison; David Chandler of Temple; and Roddy
Chandler and his wife Helena, of Hiawassee, Georgia; daughters --  Kathleen
Morriss and husband, Curtis, of Austin; Terry Brazeal and husband, Tonie, of
Brenham; grandchildren -- Misty and Marlee Chandler, Tommy, Bobby and
Heather Chandler, Gabrielle, Elizabeath, Andrianna Chandler, Amanda and
Sarah Morriss, Daniel Ballard, Amber Pendergraft, Kristen Johnson, Ricky
Johnson and Lisa Brazeal; and nine great grandchildren.
Also surviving his is his brother -- Harry Chandler and Harry's wife,
Billie, of Florida; sister-in-law -- Georgie Cannon of Cat Spring;
Brother-In-Law: Paul Cannon and his wife, Sharon, of Baytown; and close
friend: Edna Fay Campbell of Houston; and many other friends and relatives.
Roderick was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Barbara Ann on April
1, 1971 and Jean on June 27, 2003, his granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth
Chandler, and his brother, George Chandler.
Pallbearers serving were: Bruce Chandler, Tom Chandler, David Chandler,
Roddy Chandler, Tonie Brazeal and Daniel Ballard. Honorary pallbearers were:
Curtis Moriss, Robert Cannon, dale Pendergraft and Ricky Johnson.
In lieu of usual remembrances memorial gifts may be made to the Muscular
Dystrophy Assoc., 3300 Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ, 85718-3208.
Services were performed by Schmidt Funeral Home.
