Funeral services for Ernest Connally "E.C." Evans, 89, of Bellville were
held Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel
in Bellville with the Rev. Carmen Rickel officiating.
Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Pallbearers serving were
Gerald Evans, Bradley Evans, Mike Jones, Mike Evans, Joe Kettler and Thomas
Riegel.
Born in Rosebud, ernest was the son of Jacob E. Evans and Sarah Jane
(Huckabee) Evans. 
He was raised in Reagan, and attended reagan Public Schools. Mr. Ernest
Evans married Hazel Hellmuth on August 20, 1938 with ceremony held in
Bellville. 
Ernest retired August of 1974, as a construction Foreman for Southwestern
Bell Telephone, where he was employed for 37 years. He lived in Bellville
since the 1940s. 
E.C. was a member of Bellville Masonic Lodge #223 and the First United
Methodist Church of Bellville. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening and taking
care of the farm.
Ernest Evans died Monday, September 4, 2006 in Bellville.
He is survived by his sons -- Galen Evans of The Woodlands; Darrell Evans
and wife Faye of Wharton; sisters -- Velma Schmidt of Temple; Alervta Thomas
of Houston; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild.
Preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Sarah Evans; wife Hazel Evans;
one sister, Lavada Nutt; and three brothers, Palmer, Joe and Floyd Evans.
Arrangements were by Knesek Family Funeral Chapels.
