WILLIAM "BILL" HAJEK

Funeral services for William ³Bill² Hajek, 94, of Industry will were 10
a.m., Friday, July 7, 2006, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Industry with Father Tim Bucek and Deacon Gerald DuPont officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery. A Knights of Columbus Rosary was
recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. A Parish
Wake was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church. Friends called after 4 p.m., Wednesday at the Zaskoda Chapel in
Industry until 3 p.m.
William Frank ³Bill² Hajek was born July 23, 1911, on a farm near Industry,
the son of Joseph and Anna Hajek.
A 1928 graduate of Industry High School, he married Marie Theresa Raska on
Oct. 9, 1934, in Latium, Texas.
He spent his early years ranching and custom hay baling until he began his
building contracting business. He remained a building contractor until his
retirement.
He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Industry. He served as a C.C.D. and C.C.E. teacher for 35 years and was an
eucharistic minister until 1999 and was instrumental in many conversions to
catholism.
He was a Fourth Degree Knight and charter member of the  Sealy Assembly of
the Knights of Columbus. He was a charter member of Msgr. Gury Knights of
Columbus Council in Frelsburg and a charter member of the Msgr. Geiser
Knights of Columbus Council in Industry where he served as Grand Knight,
Financial Secretary, District Deputy and District Warden.
He served as ambulance attendant on Adam 5 for Austin County for 14 years, a
member of the Industry School Board for six years and was a Board of
Director for the Austin County Fair Association for nine years.
He enjoyed polka music and attended many dances in the area throughout the
years.
Mr. Hajek passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, in an Austin hospital at the age
of 94 years, 11 months, and 10 days.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Hajek; his wife,
Marie (Raska) Hajek; sisters, Anna Hajek, Minnie Cufr, Mary Krenek;
brothers, Alvin, John and Joseph Hajek.
Survivors include: nieces and nephews from the Hajek and Raska family and
several close friends including Lucille Meischen of Industry.
Pallbearers were brothers of the Fourth Degree of Knights of Columbus.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Fund in care of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, P.O. Box 808, Bellville, Texas  77418.
Funeral arrangements were by Koenig & Strickland in La Grange.
