PATSY ESTELLE POINTER JOHNSON

 

Bellville Times 
Patsy Estelle Johnson was born March 25, 1926 in Robstown, Texas, the
daughter of Curtis and Jackie Alexander Pointer.
She died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 in Bellville at the age of 79.
Services were conducted Feb. 19, 2006 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church,
Bellville, with Father Bob Gribble officiating. Pastors David Henske and
Jennie Jones assisted.
Interment was in Millheim Cemetery.
She grew up in Bellville and graduated from Bellville  High School in 1943.
She went on to continue her education at the University of Texas, earning
her Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy in 1947.
She was united in marriage on June 25, 1946 to Robert D. Johnson at St.
Mary's Episcopal Church in Bellville.
Patsy made her home in Houston where she was employed as a pharmacist from
1948 until 1972. Patsy and Robert founded a chain of stores, Medic Pharmacy,
which grew to eight locations in the Houston area.
In 1973 she moved back to Bellville. Patsy was a pharmacist for 56 years.
She enjoyed her home and loved working in her flower garden.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons Kimmon Johnson of Maywood, N.J. and
Shannon Johnson and wife, Fay M., of Bellville; sister Carolyn Bachofen and
husband, Andrew, of Kerrville; granddaughter Tyler Elizabeth Johnson of
Albuquerque, N.M.; nephews Stephen Bachofen of Austin, Matthew Bachofen and
wife, Claudia, of Waco; great nieces Amelia and Chloe Bachofen, of Waco;
cousin Dorothy Byrd of Denton; and friend Cookie Engeling of Bellville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Arthur T. Clarke,
and Robert D. Johnson.
Pallbearers were Stephen Bachofen, Andrew Bachofen, Dr. Welton Hill, Matthew
Bachofen, Ted Higginbotham and Atwood Kenjura.
Honorary pallbearers were Fritz Engelking, Bill Streb and David Russell.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends may make memorials to: Millheim
Cemetery, care of June Barbee, 4768 FM 949, Sealy, Texas 77418; St. Mary's
Episcopal Church, 24 N. Masonic St., Bellville, Texas 77418 or to a charity
of choice.
Schmidt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
