LUCILLE MARIE DIEBEL KAECHELE

Lucille Marie Diebel Kaechele, age 93, of Bellville, passed away Thursday,
June 8, 2006.
Services were held Saturday. June 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Knesek Bros.
Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Jennie Jones officiating.
Burial followed at the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville.
Visitation was from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, June  10, 2006
the funeral home chapel.

Lucille Marie Kaechele was born Aug. 13, 1912 in Victoria, Texas. Her
parents, Herman E. Diebel and Bertha Albrecht Diebel were early German
settlers of Goliad and Victoria.
Lucille grew up in Victoria and graduated from Patti Welder High School in
1930 and Victoria Junior College in 1932. She helped her father run his real
estate office, Diebel Land and Cattle Company for several years,
She married Curtis Melvin Kaechele of Bellville on June 12, 1937 in
Victoria, and they were married 60 years until his death on Oct. 3, 1997.
Curtis worked for a seismic oil exploration company, and she traveled with
him throughout the United States. For Lucille, traveling and being by her
husband's side was the most important thing in her life.
After her husband's retirement they lived in his childhood home in
Bellville, but frequently visited and stayed in Victoria.
Lucille was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. She loved
playing bridge, and enjoyed corresponding with old friends from all over the
United States that she and her husband met during their travels.
She enjoyed reading, was a collector of dolls, and loved the beautiful
flowers that her husband grew in their garden. Also, she was a member of the
Royal Neighbors of America since 1937. Royal Neighbors of America is a non
profit, charitable organization, founded by women more than 100 years ago,
and it based its principles on faith, unselfishness, courage, endurance and
modesty.
She is survived by a nephew, Eddie Boone and his wife, Joyce, of Brownwood,
Texas; nieces, Martha Watson of Victoria, and Dorothy Plummer and husband,
Dick, of Largo, Fla., and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and mother, a brother,
Clarence Diebel; and two sisters, Margaret Diebel Angerstein, and Bernice
Diebel Boone.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels in
Bellville.
