Services were held for Matilda Laskoskie, 91, of Orchard on Monday January
23rd at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Richard
Johnston celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Mrs. Laskoskie
died Thursday, January 19th in Richmond.
Interment was in the guardian AngelCemetery in Wallis.
She was born in Sunnyside, the daughter of John and Rosie Vray. Laskoskie
was raised in Waller County in the Sunnyside and Monaville areas and she
attended Monaville Schools. The former Miss Matilda Vray was joined in
marriage to Mr. Lee Laskoskie with a ceremony held at Guardian Angel
Catholic Church in Wallis.
She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children -- James Laskoskie and wife Pat of Miami;
Lawrence Laskoskie of Richmond; Catherine Gaertner of Moulton; Vivian Murry
of Houston; Leona Maupin and husband E.J. of Anderson; Jerome Laskoskie of
Clifton; Clarence Laskoskie and wife Brenda of Scottsdale, AZ; and Marilyn
Krenek and husband Johnnie of Sealy; sisters -- Rosie Etheridge of
Cleveland; Sadie Brode of Lyson; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren,
and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Laskoskie was preceded in death by her parents -- John and Rosie Vray;
husband, Lee Laskoskie; brother John Vray; and sisters -- Lena Young and
Fannie Stephan.
Pallbearers serving were Michael Laskoskie, Brian Laskoskie, John Laskoskie,
James Janecka, Michael Maupin, Andy Maupin, Roger Maupin, ernest Maupin,
Greg Krenek, Matthew Krenek and Seth Laskoskie.
