Bellville Times

Kirby Luhn, 77, of Victoria, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2006. He
was born January 3, 1929 in Kenney to the late Leslie Will and Erna Bell
Jurgens Luhn. 
He was affiliated with the oil field for over 60 years. He enjoyed being
outdoors, from ranching to attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Mr. Luhn also liked to play cards and dominoes with family and friends. He
never met a stranger and would help anyone. Kirby was dearly loved by his
family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Kirby is survived by Doris Williams Luhn, his wife of 52 years. He is also
survived by his son -- Curtis and wife Kristie Luhn; daughter -- Darla and
husband Alvin Zella, of Victoria; sisters -- Betty Ann Janak of
Hallettsville, Cornell Whitfield of Bloomington; brothers: Aldus "Tiny" and
Leslie P. Luhn, of Victoria; grandchildren -- Chad Luhn of Dallas, Chelsie
Luhn of Austin, Chase Luhn of San Antonio and Jennifer and Brett Zella of
Victoria; and one great-grandchild, Kamryn Michaelis. He was preceded in
death by his parents and one sister, Waldine Pawitzky.
Visitation was conducted September 12, 2006 at Grace Funeral Home Chapel and
services were held Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Martin Luther Lutheran
Church in Coletoville.
