Memorial services for Joe Edward Hinze,68, of Sealy, Texas were held
Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 10:00 pm from Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Sealy with Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the funeral mass and
rite of committal. Interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in
Sealy. Serving as pallbearers were George Fogle, Carlton Fogle, Dawson
Fogle, Charles Hinze, Jonathan Szymanski, Jeffery Szymanski, Allan
Hillboldt, Jr. and Benjamin Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Jessica Fogle,
Lucy Fogle, Deidre Hinze, Reagan Hinze, Sydney Hinze, Anna Smith, Sarah
Szymanski, Will Szymanski, Ellie Szymanski and Lisa Szymanski.
Joe Edward was born on August 22, 1938 in Sealy to parents E.M. and Ruby
Hinze. Joe Edward went to school in Sealy and graduated from Sealy High
School in 1956 and from Texas A&M University in 1960. On December 30, 1962
he married Cornelia Marie Zurek of Wallis, Texas, despite the fact that she
graduated from the University of Texas, and she remained the only Longhorn
he ever loved. They lived in Sealy for nearly all of their married life
together. They were blessed with a son, Gregory Foster and a daughter, Amy
Karoline. Throughout his life, Joe Edward was successful in a variety of
different business ventures. His greatest accomplishment, however, was his
loving family. He didn't have any hobbies... didn't hunt, fish, or play
golf.. other than his family. He was affectionately known as "Boopa" by his
six grandchildren and was never too busy or tired for anything when asked by
one of his precious grandkids. Joe Edward loved to travel. Very few weekends
went by without a quick trip to the Louisiana casinos. While we are all
saddened with his departure from this earth, he passed quickly doing what he
loved and took one final trip. Joe Edward was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church for over 40 years. He was honored to have served
on the church renovations committee and was very pleased with the fruits of
that endeavor. Joe Edward Hinze passed away while on vacation in Santa Fe,
New Mexico on Thursday morning, December 28, 2006.
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife
of 44 years: Cornelia Marie Zurek Hinze of Sealy; son and daughter-in-law,
Greg and Deidre Hinze of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and George
Fogle of Sealy; grandchildren, Jessica, Carlton, Lucy and Dawson Fogle of
Sealy and Reagan and Sydney Hinze of Brenham. He is also survived by his
sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Allan "Cap" Hillboldt, Sr. of Cat
Spring; sister-in-law, Jeraldine Szymanski of Wallis; neice Anna Smith and
husband Benjamin of Houston; nephews, Allan Hillboldt, Jr. of Austin,
Jeffery Szymanski, wife Sarah and children Ellie and Will of Frisco and
Jonathan Szymanski and wife Lisa of Baton Rouge, LA; numerous other
relatives and many, many, many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edwin M. and Ruby Pomikal Hinze and
his adoring in-laws, Julius and Lucille Zurek.

Joe's favorite quote: "It's only when we truly know and understand that we
have a limited time on earth - and that we have no way of knowing when out
time is up - that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it
was the only one we had." - Elisabeth Kubler - Ross... and Joe did.
