Monk
Margaret E. Wherry Monk was born February 13, 1924, in Beaumont, Texas, and
passed away peacefully December 23, 2007 in Houston.
Margaret was born to Walter and Laura Wherry and grew up in Beaumont
attending South Park Schools, and graduated from Lamar Junior College.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.W., her brothers, Clyde
and Billy Wherry, sisters Edna Myers and Elsie Samuels.
She lived in Houston for a number of years, but moved to Bellville, Texas
after J.W.šs retirement. She was Baptist.
Margaret is survived by sister: Lottie McWhorter, daughters: Becky Larson
and Liz Bautsch and husband, Dr. Jerry Bautsch; sons: Tommy Monk and wife,
Holly, and Frank Monk and wife, Vickie; grandchildren: Dr. Lauren Malitz and
husband, Ryan, Mark Bautsch and wife, Kim, Robin Larson, Shannon Larson,
Kyndal Monk, Kyle Bautsch, Hayden Stallings and Camden Garner; numerous
nieces and nephews.
The graveside service was held at 1 pm, Thursday, December 16, 2007 in
Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas with Pastor Jennie Jones,
officiating.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to
the charity of their choice.
Schmidt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
