    PHILLIP EVAN BIGBEE

Phillip Evan Bigbee, 28, of Brenham, was killed in a tragic car accident Saturday, May 10, 2008.
Evan was born Nov. 27, 1979, in Brownwood, Texas. He grew up in Brenham and graduated with honors from Brenham High School in 1998. He attended several colleges: Austin College in Sherman, Austin Community College, and the University of Houston. He held an Associates Degree from Austin Community College with a major in the Japanese language. He worked as an independent petroleum landman with Simmons and Associates.
Evan Bigbee was a unique human being.  He had a thirst for learning which led him to study languages, literature, philosophy, and the sciences. He possessed a love of all cultures, and the world fascinated him. He embraced life fully. Evan looked for the good within everyone he met, and touched the life of every person who met him. Evan is an unforgettable soul whose presence on this earth will be missed, but whose gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
Evan is survived by his parents, Jan Bigbee Weesner and Terry Weesner and Randy and Cheri Bigbee; brother Jay Bigbee and significant other Helen Judge of Richmond, Texas; step-sisters Lindsay Martin Valencia and Amy Martin Mamuszka of Austin, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmother Hazel Bigbee. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Rev. Jesse Bigbee and Glenn Peters and grandmother, Avanell Peters, Dallas.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Brenham. Officiating were Evan’s uncle, Rev. Steve Polaski, and Rev. Steve Ponder. Visitation was held Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in memoriam be donated to the advancement of education or scientific research.
