Douglas Wayne Boren was born February 26, 1952 in Alice, Texas, the son of Dan and Mary Alice Boren.
He grew up and attended school in Brookshire where he became a member of the First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed playing football, he was in Ag and was proud to be the owner of a grand champion steer.
After his school days,  Doug entered the business world and obtained the ownership of several small businesses.
An avid outdoorsman, Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing. 
He passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 in a Bellville hospital at the age of 56.
He is survived by his son Austin Douglas Boren and his wife, Michelle of Brookshire;  parents Dan and Mary Alice Boren of Brookshire;  brother Glenn Boren and Lori Hayner of Waxahachie;  sister Kay Boren Hodge of Brookshire;  grandchildren Kyle and Haylee Boren of Brookshire; also surviving Doug are his niece and nephews Cortney Smith, Christopher Neelley, Jordan and Travis Boren, and many other dear friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Boren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Reverend Bob Craig, Dr. Welton Hill, and the staff at the Bellville General Hospital for their gracious and caring concern.
Memorial Service was 2 p.m.,  Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from First Baptist Church in Brookshire with the Rev. Bob Craig and the Rev. Richard Rogers, officiating.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the: First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 190, Brookshire, Texas 77423 or to the: Austin County Unit of the American Cancer Society, c/o/ Verna Lois Deere, P.O. Box 501, Bellville, Texas 77418.
Schmidt Funeral Home of Brookshire was in charge of arrangements.
