Frank Joe Broz was born Feb. 10, 1920 in Bleiberville to Henry and Mary Stasta Broz. He grew up there and attended the Victoria School.
Pfc Broz served his country in World War II as part of the 88th Infantry Division Blue Devils. He fought in the Rome-Arno campaign in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart after being seriously wounded by German shell fire on Oct. 9, 1944. After spending almost a year recovering in the hospital, he was honorably discharged on Oct. 12, 1945.
On Sept. 26, 1946, Frank was united in marriage with Gladys Mattie Macat at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. They lived in the same farmhouse that he had been born in.  He was a farmer and rancher. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Immaculate Conception Church in Industry.
He passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 in La Grange at the age of 88.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Broz, daughters Carol Schroeder and husband Larry of Bleiberville, Janie Krueger and husband Roger of Bellville and Sharon (Bebe) Wunderlich and husband Roger of Fayetteville.  Grandchildren Sherry Schroeder Seimsgluz, Shannon Schroeder Froebel, Kevin Wunderlich and Ryan Krueger.  Great-Grandchildren Jordan and Bailey Seimsgluz, Logan and Kyler Froebel and Kash Krueger and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother at birth, his brothers Henry and Vencil, his sister Marie Rayner and twin Grandchildren Kelly and Kyle Krueger.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Tim Bucek officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Raymond Broz, Brian Seimsgluz, Todd Froebel, Kevin Wunderlich, Ryan Krueger, Jordan Seimsgluz, Kyler Froebel and Kash Krueger.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Immaculate Conception Church of Industry, the Bleiberville Volunteer Fire Department or Brazos Valley Hospice.
