Coward Memorial services for Russell A. Coward, Jr., 87, of Bellville, were held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. from Bellville United Methodist Church in Bellville with the Rev. Robert Stutes, officiating. Born in Galveston, Russell was the son of Russell A. Coward, Sr. and Bertha (Grabow) Coward. Russell was raised in Bellville and attended school in Bellville. He was a 1942 graduate of Texas A&M University. Russell served his country during WWII in the United States Army Air Corps. On May 19, 1942, Mr. Russell A. Coward was joined in marriage to the former Miss Mildred ³Mickey² Knolle with a ceremony held in Brownwood. Russell worked as a contractor, realtor and rancher. He was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church, VFW, and a Master Mason. Russell A. Coward, Jr. pas.uary 1, 2008 in Houston. Russell is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Perry Dalby of Belton, Margaret and Jim Ashmore of Richmond, Ann and Thomas Hruska of Katy, sister Rona Bell Kenter of Bellville, brother-in law William C. Knolle of Bellville, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell A. Coward Sr. and Bertha Cellum and wife Mildred ³Mickey² Coward. As Russell donated his body to science, you may wish to make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or Bellville United Methodist Church.
