Davenport
Anna Marjorie Davenport was born June 26, 1924 in San Felipe , Texas , the daughter of Albert and
Ella (Kenter) Hageman. She grew up in Austin County and attended schools in the Coshatte area.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Dick Davenport in Bellville, Texas on June 1, 1946. She was a
long term member of the St. John Lutheran Church, a member of the Young at Heart and the Bellville Garden Club. Marjorie sang at Colonial Belle Nursing Home for
over 20 years before becoming a resident.
She loved spending time with her family and being active and mobile. Marjorie enjoyed playing cards
and bingo.
Marjorie passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in Bellville at the age of 84.
She is survived by her daughters Lynessa O’Grady and her husband, Troy, of Houston, Tana Clemens
and her husband, Gary, of Spring and Anna Harbison and her husband, Paul, of Huntsville. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, in 1978, her son, James David Davenport, and
grandson, Kevin O’Grady.
The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at the Houston National Cemetery in
Houston with Pastor David Henske officiating.
Interment was at Houston National Cemetery.
