Glaser
Arthur Henry Glaser, 89, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 in Houston.
He was born Sept. 20, 1918 in Kenney to Walter and Hedwig (Engelholm) Glaser. He was baptized Nov. 17, 1918 and confirmed March 25, 1934 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg,.
Arthur married Addie Mae Perkins on Feb. 2, 1939 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Shortly after beginning their family they moved to Houston. After more than 30 years at Suniland Furniture, Arthur retired. He and Addie returned to Philipsburg where they were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Arthur and Addie enjoyed their retirement at their farm affectionately known by their grandchildren as “the Sandhill.” Arthur loved working in his garden,  taking care of his livestock, watching Astros games and boxing on TV  and time spent with his family.
Memories of Arthur will be cherished by his wife of 69 years Addie Mae, daughters Joy Nell (Glaser) Lunsford and husband Glyn and Dee (Glaser) Abrams, grandchildren Janice Jolley and husband Mike, Jeanene Lunsford, Jennifer Mayer and husband Mike and James Lunsford and wife Jennifer and great grandchildren Nolan and Tucker Lunsford. He is also survived by a sister Lucille Meischen.
Services were held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W Main, Brenham, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug., 16, 2008 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at Phillipsburg Cemetery.
