Funeral services for Ocea Verbeline "Bean" Kendrick, 90, of Bellville, were held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kathy Eason officiating. Interment was in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arlie Dean Kendrick, Doyle Krumrey, Alan Krumrey, Ronnie Krumrey, Bob Anderson and Gerald Tegeler. Verbeline was born to Andrew and Lottie (Barrett) Smith on Nov. 9, 1917 in Washington County. She married Claude "Nolte" Kendrick on Sept. 24, 1938. She was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church. She passed away on Jan. 30, 2008 in Bellville. Verbeline is survived by her son, Darrell Kendrick and wife, Aletha of Kenney; granddaughter Lisa Johnson and husband Darrell of Santa Fe, -fa., great^andson Ryan Johnson of Santa Fe, Texas; sister Ruby Gregg of Alvin; brother Andrew (A.D.) Smith of Huntsville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lettie (Barrett) Smith, husband, Nolte Kendrick, grandson, Ryan Kendrick, father and mother-in-law, Claude and Tolula Kendnck, brother-in-laws, John Arlie Kendrick, Garvin Kendrick, Mac Krumrey, J.G. Gregg and Robert E, Sauls, sisters-in-law Dorine Sauls and Ruby Smith, nephew Richard Gregg, and niece, Brenda Gregg. Services under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
