Bernita Sophia (Tegeler) Luhn, 88, of Brenham passed away Oct. 2, 2008 in Brenham.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2739
Phillipsburg Church Rd, Phillipsburg, with the Rev. Robert L. Sorensen, officiating. Interment was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy
Linsteadter, Charles Kokemor, Ronnie Luhn, Harold Luhn, Fred Luhn, Clarence Kokemor, Gerald Tegeler and Eugene Tegeler.
Bernita was born Nov. 10, 1919 in Brenham to Otto and Lydia (Kokemor) Tegeler. She was raised in
the Kenney area and attended Bellville Schools.
Bernita was united in marriage to Ervin Robert Luhn on March 26, 1939 at Phillipsburg Lutheran
Church.
In 1989 Bernita and Ervin celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends.
She retired from First National Bank in Bellville in 1984 after 27 years of service. At the
time of her retirement she had served as Head Teller, Assistant Cashier and Assistant Vice-President. After retirement Bernita continued to work in the bank
part time. She enjoyed traveling on some of the bank trips and also with her family. Bernita was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church.
Bernita is survived by her son, Gene D. Luhn and wife, Deborah of La Grange; daughter, Laurece
Maresh and husband, Donald of Brenham; and grandson, Trason Maresh of Brenham.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Lydia Tegeler; husband, Ervin Robert Luhn; and
son, Winston Ervin Luhn.
