Bea Mertins, 57, of BeIlville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, in BeIlville General Hospital.
Bea was born Feb. 15, 1951, in Budapest, Hungary, to Andrew and Magdalena Vincent. She was a high school graduate.
Before retiring in April 2008 after 28 years, she was a sales representative with Phillip Morris Cigarette Company. On May 22, 1990, she married Jimmie Lee
Mertins in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, enjoyed making and giving jewelry to family and friends, along with playing cards. She loved her
pets, Bandit, her dog, and Smokey the cat.
Her parents and sister-in-law, Barbara Wright, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Lee Mertins of BelIville; brother, Andrew Vincent and wife Joy of Richmond,
Va.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rufus Lange and wife Gladys, and Cecil Wright and wife Lee, all of Brenham; also numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a visitation, Bea was to lie in state from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Brenham Memorial
Chapel, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. Family and friends could go by the funeral home to view Bea and sign the register book.
Services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Virgil Pecht
