Essie Ree Nevill, 90, passed away Wednesday Feb. 6, 2008 in Bellville. She was born April 7,1917 in Grimes County, Texas to Albert and Mary Taylor. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment followed at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Essie was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bryan and the Uplifters Adult Sunday School Class. She retired from Texas A&M University after many years of service. Essie is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Nevill; daughter Nelda Zubik; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patsy and Thomas "Buddy" Chance of Bellville; son-in-law, James Zubik of Bryan; sisters and brother-in-law, Lessie and L.T. Moore of Spring Branch, Fay Haltom of Bryan; grandchildren, D'Anne Miller and husband John of Spring, Stacey Chance of Brenham, Nathan Chance of Locust Grove, Va., John Zubik and wife Tara of Germany, Dena Zubik Horsman and fiance' Dale Wilson of Bryan; great grandchildren, Brittney Bufkin, Tyler Bufkin, Amy Miller, Aaron Miller, Cameron Gore, Brenton Chance, Justin Zubik, and David Horsman. Pallbearers were; Tyler Bufkin, Buddy Chance, Cameron Gore, James Hardy Nevill, Dale Wilson, and James Zubik.
