Poffenberger

 Jeremiah James "J.J." Poffenberger, the son of Marcos and Carrie (Griffen) Poffenberger passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at his home in Bellville.   He was 3 years old.

J.J. was born Feb. 23, 2005, in Bellville. He enjoyed going on boat rides and loved laughing, being tickled and held upside down.  But most of all, J.J. loved being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents  Marcus and Carrie Poffenberger; sister  Lily Beth Poffenberger; grandparents Daniel and Diann Poffenberger, Robert Griffin, and Lisa and Matt Menke; great grandparents Larry and Betty Welsh, Connie Poffenberger, Jack and Evelyn Boggan, Dorothy Menke Smith and her husband, Waco, and Dorothy Rapsilver Griffin. Also surviving J.J. are his aunts and uncles Mindy “Meme” Menke, Brittany Menke, Maci and Lee Alanis, James Griffin, Charles Griffin, Tiffané Harris, Shalena Poffenberger, Jerrod and Misti Poffenberger; cousins Stewart Daniel Poffenberger, Caroline Lou Poffenberger and Elizabeth Renè Griffin; and many dear friends.

 Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville.

Funeral service was 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Bellville with Pastor Steve Olsen officiating.

Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers included  James Griffin, Charles Griffin, Jerrod Poffenberger and Lee Alanis.

Schmidt Funeral Home of Bellville was in charge of arrangements.
