Funeral Services for Slavina Annie Rinn, 95, of Sealy were held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. from First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Tyler officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Stalbaum, Stephen Stalbaum, Darren Stalbaum, Michael Stratton, David Machala, Joey Schneider, Scott Kelley and Jason Kelley. 

Slavina Annie Rinn was born July 26, 1913, to Slavina Ripple Marek and John Marek in Industry, Texas.? She married Lenley Rinn on October 9, 1931 in Nelsonville. Her husband died in September of 1951. 

From 1952 until 1965 she was employed at the Bellville General Hospital as a nurse's aid. 

In 1965 she went to work at the newly opened Azalea Manor Nursing Home in Sealy where she worked until her retirement in 1983.

During her last years there, she served as the nursing home's administrator. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sealy and former member of the United Methodist Women. 

Slavina loved to bake cookies for others. She was especially known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. She also took great pride in her yard which always featured many flowering plants and birds, which she fed daily. Slavina Annie Rinn passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 in Sealy. 

Slavina is survived by her daughters, Margie Stalbaum and husband Werner of Austin, Billie Wright of Sealy, Betty Kelley and husband Gene of Houston, brother, Edwin Marek and wife Patsy of Bellville, sister-in-law, Flora Marek of Industry, eleven grandchildren, Debbie Stratton, Robert Stalbaum, Stephen Stalbaum, Angela Stalbaum, Darren Stalbaum, Wendy Machala, Robin Schneider, Melanie Goyen, Kim Kelley, Scott Kelley and Jason Kelley, 21 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren and her special friend Maggie Selman of Sealy. 

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Slavina Marek, husband, Lenley Rinn, infant daughter, sister, Lydia Bravenec, and brothers, John, Eddie, Henry and Otto Marek.
