Funeral Service for J.D. Sabrsula, 67, of Bellville were held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. from Bellville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Stutes, officiating.

Interment was in Hartsville Cemetery near  Wallis.

Pallbearers were Corp. Michael Quintero, Spec. David Quintero, Kyle Brown, Jeffery Harper, Alton Luce, Ryan  Keen and Danny Jan.

J.D. was born in East Bernard, Texas to parents Joe and Marcella (Jan) Sabrsula.

He was raised in Wallis and  graduated from Wallis High School.

J.D. attended Sam Houston State University receiving a bachelors and masters degree.

He was a coach and teacher for over 41 years serving children all across the state of Texas. He taught in Hungerford, Bloomington, Waller, Bay City and Hempstead.

For the last 8 years he was a Teacher, Coach, Athletic  Director and Assistant Principal at Faith Academy.

On Dec. 22, 1984 he was joined in marriage to the Ms. Jacquelyn Deutrich with a ceremony held at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.

He was a member of Bellville United Methodist Church, Lions Club in Bellville and Hempstead and the Masons in Hempstead.

J.D. was always taking care of others needs. His line of importance was his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, students and himself last.

J.D. Sabrsula passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 in Houston. 

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Sabrsula of Bellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Dean Quintero and Lee Sandoval of Wallis, Sharon Sue Smith and Tommy Ray of Arlington, Tammy Gale Luce and Michael of Crockett, Kelly  Hancock and Tony of Bellville, grandchildren, Corp. Michael Quintero and wife Sarah, Spec. David Quintero and wife  Christina, Jeffery Harper, Trevor Harper, Alton Luce, Parker Ray Smith, Hunter Luce, Jonathan Luce, Lillie Hancock,  Ainsley Hancock, Pat Sandoval and wife Michelle, Chris Sandoval and wife Pam, Shannon Sandoval and wife Tracy,  great grandchildren, Dominic Lee Quintero and Emileigh Brynn Quintero, aunt, Adella Marek of Port Lavaca and  uncle, Alvin Jan of Pleak, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Michael Cyphers of Mt. Shasta, Calif., nephew,  Michael Anton Cyphers, niece, Caley Marie Cyphers and many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his loving parents, Joe and Marcella Sabrsula, sister, Jo Nell Sabrsula, son, Kyle Deutrich and  many family members. 

Services under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
