Funeral services for Henry Schneider, 88, of Sealy were held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.
Interment was in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers were Keith Schneider, Neil Schneider, Jeremy Schneider, Carl King, J. D. Devine and Jason Gentry. Honorary pallbearers were John Schneider, Billy Schneider, Joey Schneider, Larry Schneider, Edward Schneider, Donnie Schneider, and Kenneth Schneider.
Henry was born in Wallis to parents Paul and Anna (Thompson) Schneider. He grew up in Sealy and attended Cannon Hill School.
Henry served his country from 1941 to 1945 during WWII in the United States Army stationed in the Philippines.
On April 28, 1949 Henry was joined in marriage to the former Miss Ernestine Hering with a ceremony held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy.
Henry was a lifelong rancher, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion, Post 442. He loved fishing, duck hunting, and family gatherings. His greatest love was his grandchildren.
Henry Schneider died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Sealy.
He is survived by his wife Ernestine Schneider of Sealy, sons, Raymond Schneider and wife Debi of Houston and Lonnie Schneider and wife Faith of Katy, brothers Johnnie Schneider of Sealy, Walter Schneider of Brookshire, sister Hattie Schaefer of Bellville, grandchildren, Keith Schneider, Neil Schneider and wife Kiya, Jeremy Schneider and wife Misty, Ashli Schneider, Carl King and wife Tammy, great grandchildren, Avery Schneider, Sterling Schneider, Ali King, Austin King, Ashleigh Mese, Alex Mese, Brandon Mese and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anna Schneider, brother, Charlie Schneider and sisters Clara Strauss and Annie Hinze.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 Atchison, Sealy, Texas 77474.
