**NETTIE BELL FRANK SILLAVAN**
Bellville Times Sillavan Nettie Bell Frank Sillavan was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Bellville, the daughter of Ben and Alwina Frank. She grew up and attended school at Piney Creek. Nettie Sillavan always presented herself in appearance, manners, and character as a classic southern lady. She was soft-spoken, but had a will of steel and was a fierce protector of her family. On Jan. 19, 1942, Nettie married the love of her life, John Harold Sillavan in Houston, where they lived and raised their children. She worked in the medical field for Dr. John J. Bunting for 23 years as office manager in Houston. Once their children were grown and she and John retired, they moved to Bellville where they thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, simple life. It was a move they never regretted. All of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren live no further than Austin, College Station, Cypress and Bellville. They have enjoyed traveling with lifelong friends and family to every state in the continental United States except Maine and Iowa, also Mexico and Europe,Nettie loved to go play bingo with her friends and going on the Banse bus to Marksville, La. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard, but most of all she enjoyed her family. She passed away Nov. 10, 2008 in her home with her best friend Ruby Bauerkemper by her side. She and Ruby spent her last two days having a wonderful visit, playing skipbo and getting ready for their trip to Marksville. Nettie leaves behind to cherish her memory children: Gene Sillivan, Nancy Hempel and her husband, Curtis, and John D. Sillavan; grandchildren: Kenny Sillavan and his wife, Sandy, John Hilsher and his wife, Kris, Jennifer Matthews and her husband, Cliff, Karley Donnel and her husband, Walter, and Anna Hempel. Nettie is also survived by her great grandchildren Jake and Jessie Sillavan, Christopher Hilsher, Caroline Dyer, and Stephanie Donnel. Two sisters: Etta Mae Ottmer of Bellville and Betty Luedecke of Sealy. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harold Sillavan of 66 years, her parents, brothers, Wilbert Frank, Otis Frank and sister Hazel Kujawa. Family meant everything to her and she will always be remembered in loving memories by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Visition was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas. Funeral service was at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lawrence White, officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Frank, Allen Frank, Wilbert Frank, Jr., Jimmy Kujawa, Charles Hilsher and Raymond Pascual. Honorary Pallbearers were Rona Dell Kenter, Ruby Bauerkemper, Lenora Zander, and Betty Langham. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville, Texas.
